It has been 2 months now and I still hear talk as to whether St. X made the first down on the 4th and 3 play. Anybody out there feel like they had a good angle to see? What's your call?

I was there....and can tell you that it does not matter......If you do all the things that you need to do, throughout the game....a call by a ref won't matter....X did not play well enough to win and Trinity did.....The difference in the game was X's penalty problem...You cannot play like that and expect to beat a team of Trinity's calibre.....the team that played the best that night won...period...No Excuses!

I'd say that No 55 made a great play. Who is that guy anyway?

I was on the field, standing just to the right of the line of scrimmage. No doubt about it--they did not get the first down. In fact, I can say that the officials called a very good game overall.

As a reporter--that's the most objective view I can give you.

Penalties is not an X usual but that game had to set some kind of a record for them, especially in the playoffs. Having a sophmore in at QB for more than 1/2 the game dosen't help, he played well but was no Curley.

I am an impartial 3rd party with no affliation to either team.

I was very close . . . . . with an "above" angle.

My opinion (not that it means anything) is that he EASILY HAD THE first down. All of the people that I was with felt the same way.

(Again--I know this means very little at this point).

Not really. X had 13 more yards (96) of penalties just three weeks prior against Manual. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051112/SPORTS05/511120427/1002/ARCHIVES

Not even close to being true. Zoeller enters the game with 1:35 to go in the 3rd quarter. Last time I checked that doesn't amount to more than half of the game. http://www.khsaa.org/football/2005/4afinal.htm#GAME.IND

Are you related to #55? I think Anderson was a little shy of the first.

In case you have not heard Brent Curley broke his foot on the 6th offensive play of the game. He was not effective the rest of the game and was finally replaced a bit too late. Yes it was a first down but what else is new.
