xsharpxshooterx67 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Is the 3 point shot killing your team.
Play 2 Win Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Should it be moved back to match the college line?
STRIKE3 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I would like to see it moved back personally, to allow the development of the post player and wing player, which seem to have been lost on average in the state. Plus it would help promote more offensive sets, screens and movement away from the ball, to free open a shooter from outside...
Master D Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Ah, all i can say is "you live by the three, you die by the three"!!!
STRIKE3 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Ah, all i can say is "you live by the three, you die by the three"!!!...true and I usually shake my head, watching so many players try and make them....
NEERFAN Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Should it be moved back to match the college line? They are the same.
sidelinereporter Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Personally, the high school game should have the exact rules as college with the exception of the shot clock and that is because the shot clock puts added expense on schools to pay to have them installed and to pay to have someone run it. Think about it, you are preparing high schoolers to play at the next level so why not make the rules the same and the floor the same.
Eagle 8 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Very few high school players move on to play college basketball. What we are really preparing them for is becoming productive adults. Everytime someone mentions separating private-public or seeding or classification we screem "why change". The more changes we implement in high school, the closer it resembles the pro game. Is that really what we want?

Agree that it would be more expense that would be a point of contraversy statewide, but I beleive there other states that use a shot clock in high school such as New York. The three point line is the same as college.

sweet16 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Should it be moved back to match the college line? Yes it should be moved back to match the college line. wait a minute, nevermind, it is the same.
thewalrus Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 True, very true they are very much the same!

I feel that we are here to produce high quality members of society, not prepare them just for the next level. But the 3 point shot has killed the once great skill of the mid range jumper. Kids who play now a days don't work their skills enough as it is. If you move back the line they will just train the body and mind to hit the deeper shot.
TaylorMadeBoy Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Yeah. Everyone on the team shot a 3 one game that played. Except for the 6'5 guy.
Oxnard Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 they shold move the line back to make it a challenge. that mchale kid from bellevue needs a harder challenge
