  1. you never can...this forum isn't about Trinity...show some class...like Rockmom and other classy T supporters
  2. Not dissin' Mom......I loved the shirts!.......And when I was a young X-man...I loved Assumption girls....
  3. I saw a T-shirt yesterday, that boasted of a remarkable stat...it proclaimed: Assumption High School Football....Undefeated for 50 years! The statement is factual! :thumb:
  4. 99% of those kids would not go to another school.....or they would have already done it...to get more playing time.....kids and their parents pick X and T for other reasons than football... X and T's football programs are about way more than football....it is about developing fine young men....like I guy that I work with said..."he would give up everything he has in life to be able to experience X football again"...He was not a starter and got very little time.... The lessons that my son has learned about life from Glaser and other X coaches are far more important than the Veer or playing time... This is not work ...it is school and by showing up....my son is exposed to some great role models...and he is making great friendships.....
  5. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: How come out of all the "allstar" teams that T and X have...we don't have many kids picked for the all state teams????....kinda blows your statement out of the water...doesn't it Knute?...... It's not recruiting...it's not allstar players.....it's not boundries.....or any other exuse you can think of.... We have a team of kids that -rarely make the all state team... -who must meet a higher level of academic achievement than required by the KHSAA to play sports for X and T -who have to adbide by very strict behavior contracts. (detentions for being 1 minute late for class as an example) -who must dress in dress slacks and a tie everyday -who have to pay $8500 a year to attend -who have to get there own ride to school because there is no bus service. -must pay for lunch These are hardly advantages...except that they do carry over to make one heck of a well disciplined football team.
  6. A teammate of my son's (Stephen Lichtefeld) is waiting to see if financial aid is approved. He is wanting to go to Trinity....Seneca might win by default if he does not get it.....He is an awesome WR, RB, CB. He is extremely fast and has awesome hands. On defense...he is the guy that you don't want hitting you...He is also a very gifted basketball player...
  7. Sorry....I thought I was in a forum about incoming X and T frosh....I'll go to the Public/Private forum for that info.....or better yet.....why don't all you thread jackers go there....and the rest of us can stay on topic! My incoming Freshman hasn't made the weight room...too much baseball!! alright..time to brag!!! He went to the doctor because of knee pain....the dr. said that he will grow 5inches this summer and possibly another 4 before he is done. (they x-rayed growth plates....I still don't know if this is a guess or true science) He is a very large boy already...6' and 238lbs. He wants to play DE. He is 1st degree black belt in TaeKwonDo which helps him tremendously in the pit. I can't wait to see how he does....He will join his big brother (in age only) at X who will be a sophmore.
  8. One of my sons who is a RB was encouraged to join the track team by his football coaches. The track team has already taken .2 seconds off his 40 time which was already good. These other sports (track, wrestling) cut the risk of burnout while building other skills (speed, functional strength) that are very necessary on the football field.
  9. You are right! I can only speak for X...but Trinity is very similiar. X does not have near the same interest in basketball as football. Football is king. Players join the track and wrestling teams to get better at football. Players voluntary hit the weights all year long. X has great coaches in football including an ex-NFL Pro-bowl line-man. X does not have the same fan support or interest in basketball. Need proof? ...Go check out the Boys basketball forum and see how many threads about X ot T basketball you can find. Now go to the football forum...Huge difference...huh? X does need to work harder in basketball and they need more parent involvement. It's true...I've admitted it...It has nothing to do with numbers...if it did...why wouldn't we be able to pull more talented kids from our 1400?......We need to work harder in basketball and the publics need to in football...period!
  10. I watched part of the Trinity/X track scrimmage Tuesday night at X. Trinity was very impressive. I am sure many of those kids will be playing football....Speed kills!
  11. 10-4..I thought that you did but I was just making sure you didn't think I was trying to take at stab at Trinity. I really thought this band was cool.:thumb:
  12. Yes it was!....Trinity should bring this back!...
  13. Talk in another thread about Rockmom trying to get Duece to head Trinity's way...(It was a joke...not recruiting...settle down!) got me thinking about Trinity's Rock band. Way back in the 80's Trinity had a group of student's who would bring their electric guitars to football games and rock out on VanHalen, ACDC, and of course Queen. One of my grade school friends was in this. They were awesome! What's the word on these guys?
  14. I put a fund raising idea in that forum...it's a quick way..(1 night) to raise a couple thousand....as long as you are a not-for profit org. The local comedy club has the deal and its fun for all... I hate to hear about the lack of funds for the athletic departments...I believe that sports..if taught right.....really add to one's character development. I believe that it is an essential part of education. Where is all that lottery money going? Do you think that if all of us on BGP put together a petition to our representatives in Frankfort that it would make a difference? Any ideas?
  15. That's why I said rumored....one of his grade school coaches told me that it was true....but that is one of those have to see it to believe it things. This same coach said that baseball was Duece's best sport.
  16. This kid is a stud. He had 5 TDs against Butler in the last game of the year. (Butler was undefeated up to that game) He is also on the basketball team and rumored to throw a 90 mph fastball. On top of this Duece takes a couple of Honors classes. Rolandan Finch II is called Duece because of the II.
  17. :thumb: Duece is also thicker than Vic....Vic does have incredible foot speed
  18. St.X has been the landlord since 2000...and they just created about 150 new parking spots for the Germantown faithful to use. They also made a much larger......easier to find ...and safer entrance to the park...without changing any fields!
  19. Some players flop at the next level and others excel...KJ will excel.....The right coach could polish this kid into something special.
