Who will be in the running for Mr. Football?

Vic Anderson and Douglas Beaumont will headline Louisville candidates to start the season, I imagine. Nick Petrino might slip in there, but there are a lot of doubters (people that have never seen him play, mostly.) Too often this gets mixed up with 'top college prospect' when guys like Petrino are real playmakers on this level and get overlooked.

I think that Nick does not stand a chance with two stallions in the likes of Anderson and Beaumont.

Pre-Season vote - Beaumont...this man has been a stud from the second he put straps on at High School....he is very deserving of the award.

Maybe Henry Clay RB Chase Minnifield - the kid can fly.

North Hardins Mark Terry the offensive runs through him, could have a monster year.

Nobody has better numbers than Frankfort's Kaelin Ammons.

But his team not being a title contender will hurt him.

I will go with Vic Anderson. He is working very hard to improve his size and endurance for next season and it will pay off.

From what I have heard about Beaumont he should have it hands down. I know a coach from a certain WKY high school that saw him play and made the statement of Beaumont being the best football player he had ever seen in high school. I believe he saw him play against Manual.

Emanuel Taylor RB Hopkinsville. 6'0 210Lbs: Over 1,600 rushing averaged 10.6 yards per carry last season for his first year of playing organize football. Very stong runner with great speed (4.6 or under speed). Taylor will have to great showing when playing Tandy and Beaumont next season. Hoptown plays both Male and Christian County at home next season.

Depending on how much Highlands runs him, Jordan Kramer could be a serious contender as we saw towards the end of last season.

I don't think Beaumont really got the attention he deservered last season. I'm glad to see he is getting it now. He single handily took out Manual IMHO, everyone knew he was getting the ball, and how he was getting it but my Rams simply couldn't stop him.

Ammonds from Franklin Co would be my #1 guy to start the year.

Is sportsmanship a factor in this award or is it pure talent? That would effect my vote quite a bit.

^ would many others as well...the #1 factor seems to be how long you keep UK in your "looking at" list for recruiting.
