  1. I disagree. The "scouts" get information from coaching staffs at schools and vice versa. Going to a combine is a good way to put some proof out for them if you play in a lower tier football state like KY that is viewed as having an overall lower level of competiton. This is why you see kids with early hype not receiving offers and why sometimes a kid seems to come out of nowhere. I do agree that some of these "experts" are questionable.....coaches make the ultimate call and don't give a flip about stars.
  2. Slusher didn't take anything from anybody. Furthermore, it certainly isn't his fault if he was able to start over someone else. He was begged to play. His parents were asked. They wanted him and knew the consequences. If they gambled hoping he wouldn't get to go....their fault. I totally agree with this; however, I'm not much on Brent being blamed for something that isn't his fault.
  3. Slusher was asked to play last year after he returned from the AA in January and refused because it was so late and he didn't think it was fair. The TEAM and coaches asked him to play this year.
  4. Once again, he was asked to play after his plans were known. The team/staff made that call.
  5. Slusher told Coach Whitaker that he had every intention of leaving before he ever started playing. They wanted him to play as long as he could. Brent was upfront and everyone knew about it. He didn't just up and leave them.
  6. for a 6'3", 220+ lb. person....it's pretty good
  7. I hate to hear this. He's an athlete! Hope everything goes well and wish him luck and a speedy recovery.

  9. Geez....give him a little bit of a chance.
  10. He was mentioned as a defense player.
  11. Thanks, Hounds82. Do you know if they are having the dunking contest this year and when?
  12. Could someone please post the CFIT complete schedule
  13. Slusher played basketball the whole season his sophomore year.
  14. The way I understand it, the college coaches voted for the rules in January. All the combines caused them to be on the road more, but the main reason was because viewing a kid at a combine was supposed to be counted toward the evaluations and most schools didn't turn them in correctly. Basically, it gave schools who weren't doing things the right way a recruiting advantage and there was no way to really police which schools were viewing which kids.
  15. College coaches will not be attending combines like they have in the past.
  16. I didn't necessarily mean you personally. It just seems that a lot of the kids get bashed on here and it irritates me. I wish that everyone would support them all, wish them well, and be glad that they might help the perception of KY football change eventually.
  17. I also think it is sad that lineman are mostly overlooked for this award. They are just as important as anyone else! Hard to get all those yards with a pitiful line isn't it? Hope Stuart is remembered!
  18. I'm sure being in the SE isn't helpful. But you're way off in your assessment. It may take longer to play at Auburn due to depth, but they don't waste scholarships. The coaching staff stays right with him and has already been to see him this week......why put so much effort into a non-impact player? I know it just bothers some folks, but Brent and Stuart both have a LONG and QUALITY list of offers. Even though they don't get the media push for glamour postions and teams like some others, they are every bit as deserving. I guess they will just have to settle for going to school for free...bet they are crushed BUT...be sure to let Coach Tubs and SOS know how you feel. I'm sure they'd love your contradictions to their opinions
  19. I find it odd that people forget about Hines and Slusher....
  20. Let me rephrase: According to what information would that opinion be correct and someone's (who is not a professional analyst or recruiter) opinion be more correct? I'd say the common aspect on the opinion is that Durham and Slusher both play on teams that beat Corbin; therefore, they are overrated. I think there's more than a little bias. If I remember correctly, this is the same poster who had a fit when it was posted that Slusher had an Auburn offer and tried to claim that he didn't....the thread was deleted.
  21. According to what??
