^ would many others as well...the #1 factor seems to be how long you keep UK in your "looking at" list for recruiting.

You are right about keeping UK on the recruiting rader. That doesn't make it right, but it seems to be true.

Micah Johnson?

Micah Johnson?

Why should he not have won the award????

Nevermind.......That road has been traveled, but the bottom line is that Mr. Johnson is KY's Mr. Football 2005.

I expect before all is said and done Keith Tandy a QB from Christian Co., will become a contender for the award, I don't know if he can win it though.

Vic Anderson and Douglas Beaumont will headline Louisville candidates to start the season, I imagine. Nick Petrino might slip in there, but there are a lot of doubters (people that have never seen him play, mostly.) Too often this gets mixed up with 'top college prospect' when guys like Petrino are real playmakers on this level and get overlooked.

Beaumont is a stud...I was very impressed in the games that I saw. Vic is a stud too and he has been on a mission in the off-season...trying to get bigger, stonger and faster. Petrino will make his presence known too.

The Slusher kid out of Bell will be a strong canidate this year. He has been relatively flying low, but word is, he will be mentioned in a few publications. I have heard strong rumors that he will be rated in the top ten @ the TE spot nationwide.

Hard to get it as a TE though. I think his defensive prowess will help him out though.

Clint Cashen may warrant mention as Russell's Clark. I don't think either have a snowball's chance, but both might make it to the radar screen.

If Kasey Clark from Russell is not in the running, it means he had an absolutely horrendous season. The kid set the record for scoring this year. He played like a man possesed in the state championship.

Have not seen too many anywhere that can do what Beaumont dioes each week on Offense, Defense AND Special Teams. He made some pretty physical stops on defense this year on many films I got to see in preparing to play Male. As someone else stated, you know he is their main go to guy (usually 2-3 more as well) and he still breaks for big yardage. Victor Anderson is very good in his own right and should provide enough offense to stake a legitimate claim to Mr. Football.

Vic Anderson

Douglas Beaumont

Kasey Clark

Kaelin Ammons

Nick Petrino

I think that to be a Mr. Football candidate for next year, the player will have to be a senior next year.

I did not say he should not have been awarded Mr. Football. He is a great representative for the award. I did feel it helped that he was a UK recruited player.

Brent Slusher from Bell will get some mentioning, mainly due to college recruiting. However, not sure if he has a legit shot at winning it while playing the TE position. Playing LB helps him, but I dont think he will get the recognition he deserves at that spot, making it hard for him to win it as a LB.

Curious if there are any other mountain kids that may have a legit shot at the award??? And please..... let this be legit.

Ammonds

Beuemont

Anderson

top 3 not order

Clark would be one to watch

QB: Ammonds

RB: Beumont/Anderson/Clark

WR: Wes Caldwell
