Best Middle Linebacker in the Mountain Region
Oldcat95 replied to doodle's topic in KY Football (High School)
The scheming part is dead on BIG DOG. I don't think they have used Slusher on a blitz more than three of four times. They use him as a cover linebacker, because he has no one to cover the middle of the field if he blitzes. Mark my words, if he can stay healthy, and get meaner, he will be a serious force, because the kid is a freakish athlete. -

Don't know what game you watched kid........Slusher had about 15-18 tackles. Had a safety too, but the ref said he crossed the goaline with forward momentum. Slusher's going to Auburn.........who the heck is Tim Baker???? -
Slusher is my nephew. I take it he had a good game? I live in Florida, so I didn't see it obviously.

Who scored for Bell tonight?

Army All-American Bowl KY Nominees
Oldcat95 replied to HSsportsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Well..........Slusher signed with a top 10 team in Auburn. Apparently he must have a few skills to get him nominated to this game. I know he impressed the heck out of more than a few scouts at last years all-army combine. I would just about be willing to bet a few dollars that this kid makes the squad, due to the fact that he is a freakish athlete. But then again, who am I? -
Wow, what a coincidence, Slusher IS my nephew!!!!!!! I live in Florida now, so I come here for the updates.

Has Slusher played well????

Bell County 24 Whitley County 20
Oldcat95 replied to UKBLUE1964's topic in KY Football (High School)
Bell won. The officials didn't play in the game guys. Give it a rest. If they had won 50-0 you would still say the refs cheated. Sour grapes. It was a good game. Good luck next game Whitley. -

Why is there this feeling of discontent every time Bell wins a game. They have a strong tradition, but I think it unfair to those kids to say every time they win a game it is due to the officials. Give it a rest. Hilton is probably won of the best coaches, if not the best, to have ever coached in Ky. Any doubters? Look at the wins column for his career. -
Slusher from Bell had a nice defensive game with a key INT that he took back about 70 yards for a score.

Bell County LB/TE Brent Slusher gives verbal to Auburn
Oldcat95 replied to JC Alumni 76's topic in KY Football (High School)
Who cares, as long as this kid gets to play ball and receive a free education. How many kids in this area get to play for a powerhouse like Auburn? I can count them all with one hand. Brent, we all knew you could do this sice you were in diapers. Congratulations nephew!!!!!! -
LOOKS LIKE YOU MAY WANT TO WORK ON YOUR TYPING, AND SPELLING MORE THAN SPEED.
-
All of this doesn't really matter. I was a part of all of this nonsense between Bell and "that other team", and I promise you that no field was ever watered down on purpose. This is just another urban legend guys.
-
I was a part of those games in the early 90's. WE NEVER WATERED DOWN THE FIELD! I always hear this crap. It rains in November in EKY or snows. Why is that so tough to believe? We played in a game up North(I will not mention the name of the school)that was a lot worse than the events at Bell, and we never accused anyone. Let it go, you only degrade yourselves with this useless garbage.
-
Slusher is legit. I guarantee that if he stays healthy, he should be the best TE in the state. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much potential.
-
This ring is almost identical to the 91' State ring of BELL COUNTY, except the colors and names of course.
-
Hard to get it as a TE though. I think his defensive prowess will help him out though.
-
The Slusher kid out of Bell will be a strong canidate this year. He has been relatively flying low, but word is, he will be mentioned in a few publications. I have heard strong rumors that he will be rated in the top ten @ the TE spot nationwide.

Who's the team to beat in the mountains in 06
Oldcat95 replied to Rock Boss's topic in KY Football (High School)
It is confidence. When you win as often as these schools do, it is really tough not to see them right there again. They don't rebuild, they reload. I know at Bell, the season is a failure to them if they don't win 10 games, where as at other schools, 10 wins is an awesome accomplishment. -
Who are the top Linebackers in Eastern Ky next season?
Oldcat95 replied to Oldcat95's topic in KY Football (High School)
Brent had an awesome combine. He was in the top ten in nearly every catagory for TE's. Can't wait to see where he goes.
