  1. Last weekend's All-Army Combine was a sucess for Bell's Brent Slusher. Why wasn't there more kids invited from Ky? Slusher placed in the top ten for TE's in nearly every catagory. I think there was only one other kid from Ky invited.........why?
  2. I think Slusher of Bell will be unreal next year if the Bobcats use him correctly. This year he had to play back entirely too much due to the instability of the defensive line. At 6'4", 240 and growing, 36" vertical, and a sub 4.7 40..................I can't wait to see him blitz. The kid broke Bell's single season tackle record this year despite having his defensive linemen pushed back in his lap all season. He stayed away from basketball this season just to live in the weight room. WATCH THIS KID YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!
  3. Slusher of Bell is one. Middlesboro seemed to have one, although I don't remember his name. What about the rest of them?
  4. You know Bell and Rock will compete for it again this year. These two teams just don't lose. Seriously, when was the last time they had a losing record?
  5. That Brent Slusher kid, will be unreal next year, I have a feeling. :fire:
  6. Remember this name, cause it will hurt next year. BRENT SLUSHER #32
  7. Awesome RockPride, but you are still at home on the couch huh?
  8. They come out with the updated list after New Years. The list that rivals has was made in August. What, you didn't know that?? He is just a Junior.
  9. These are just the ones that I knew. I can't wait till this kid hits a major team. How exciting for this kid.
  10. I really doubt Slusher will wind up @ Indiana. I truely believe he will wind up somewhere in the S.E.C., or Notre Dame. I know LSU and Auburn are hitting this kid up hard, but the letters are just piling up too fast to keep count. S.E.C. Kentucky Tenn. LSU Auburn A.C.C. FSU Wake Duke N. Carolina Ind. Notre Dame Those are just the ones I know for a fact.
  11. I know this Slusher kid personally, and I am telling you, he has all the tools. Now what will he do with them? He has the potential to top some recruiting lists, I promise you that. :thumb:
  12. I think this should be based on the team, or athletes that you have on the team. Obviously if you don't have a quick progression-thinking QB, neither of these offenses can be truely effective. Most high school teams run a simplified variation of these respective offenses. My opinion is a little outdated, but I prefer the Power I, or wishbone sets for high schoolers. It is far simplier to understand, and it concentrates more on the fundamentals of the game. To be effective though, you must be fundamentally sound, and well conditioned, as it is also a ball control strategy. Sadly, few teams rely on the fundamentals anymore, rather glamour and gimmicks. Linemen win championships, offenses should key on their strengths.
  13. I played in these games guys. Most of this stuff is just conspiracy theory. There have always been questionable calls in these games, but I admit that Ft, Thomas beat us fair and square, at least when I played. They just always had more talent and depth, but they knew they were gonna get hit, and hit hard when we locked horns.
  14. I wonder what kind of numbers Bell County is generating. I know when I played, football payed for almost every extra cir. at the school. I remember some sort of blow-up about it in the local paper during the early '90s. The stadium was always packed for home games. I know they had to have made a substantial profit. Anyone have any info?
  15. It has been well over 20 years since Bell even came close to a losing season. If not for Highlands, and maybe Cov. Cath., Bell would probably have 3-4 more State titles.
  16. No, I talk to him pretty regular, and I don't think UK is even on his radar screen. I think so far he likes Notre Dame, Auburn, UT, Louisville, not necessarily in that order, but close enough.
  17. This Breeding kid sounds like he would be better suited to play wideout, but whatever is in the cards right?
  18. Brent Slusher of Bell sure looks good. 6'4", 240, and still growing. Rumor has it, this kid has been getting letters from many of the top 25 teams in the nation, and has made several "unofficial" visits. Anyone have anymore TE's that could break out next year? Seems like this position is getting more and more use in the state.
  19. Can anyone tell me what is going on with Bell's team? I heard a lot of nasty things are coming out of there. Trouble in the locker room/coach?
  20. I live in FL now, so I'm not sure who is considered "mountain" anymore. I guess I'm going off memories of my time there.
  21. 1. Belfry 2. Bell 3. Rock 4. Corbin 5. Middlesboro 6. Leslie Belfry has to get the nod I guess. Bell's record is certainly comprable, but they just can't seem to get it done against the Northern teams that they must always face come playoff time. Maybe one day Bell will learn how to throw the ball and become a little more diverse. All those years that they had a dominate defense, but no offensive prowess. Just three yards and a cloud of dust.
  22. I'll take Bell's record over those teams in the last twenty years.
  23. That would be great........except I said Mountain(as in Southeastern)teams.
