I completely agree with you. Everyone knows that Highlands has some of the smallest lineman in the state, but they obviously get the job done. The same goes for Cov. Cath., Boyle, Lex. Cath. and lots of other big name schools. I would take a 6'2" 230lb guy over a 6'5" 300lb guy any day in high school football.

Wow, this is all very interesting. Hempfling will be the man on Highlands' line. But if it is true that Luke and Ryan are moving to the line too, there is going to be some serious hits this season inside the box. With Hurtt in the mix to seal off the end, they will really open up some new opportunities. I do kind of question Luke moving to the line because I felt he was a pretty darn consistent receiver for the offense last season, but I'm sure the coaches know what their doing. Otherwise, Highlands always finds a way to fill in the line, one way or another to get the job done. On defense, the only lineman I can think of off the top of my head is Jurgens. After roughly a year and a half of varsity experience at defensive line, he should be a good contributor. I could see him catching a few balls at TE too.

Robbins was a very good runningback, you are right about that. I don't want to bring up field conditions, but you have to wonder how that game would have turned out if the two teams were playing on steady ground, like Highlands was used to (field turf). That was the only time that year that Highlands played on a muddy field. And I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that Bell played on that kind of field all year long. Oh, and it is 2-13, thank you very much.

Yes, that is what I heard. It breaks my heart to hear it. But it sounds like, with the spinal problems he has, it's not worth risking the ease of a much more serious injury.

I am very sorry to say that Highlands will be playing without a very important player, for this game, and the rest of the season due to reacurring back injuries... This is a big loss and I hope that the birds can keep it close.

Why would Weinrich leave Highlands and go to a different school? He has an excellent position there. Mueller is getting pretty old and it won't be long before he retires. Who do you think would be the man to replace him when that time comes? Weinrich would love to be the head coach at Highlands, since that is alma. Unless there has been something to change his thoughts completely, he's not going anywhere.

I will be very suprised if they don't move him to reciever and defensive back. I know I sure would. But Conners, Head, and the rest of the crew are going to make up a heck of a backfield.

That would be a horrible move, IMO! I'm sure many others agree with me. The kid can block on running plays around the end, which is very important to Highlands' mentallity. Also, this year, he was one of our best and most consistant recievers. There are a few defensive linemen that I am pretty sure will be playing offense in 2007 at HHS. In fact, there were 3 pretty beefy sophs that I saw in a few games who just pushed people around. The future looked pretty good from where I was standing...

Lofton is a great basketball player, for sure, but as for his football playing ability, I would have to disagree. He was quick and could catch a ball, but after that, there wasn't much more to it.

You're thinking about Jordan Kramer.

From Highlands, I would predict Cecil scores once, Bathiany kicks a field goal, Kramer scores once, Conners scores once, and a TD pass to an undetermined reciever. From Covington Catholic, atleast 3 field goals (but I am guessing 4), Sutton or Bovard scores once (but they both should have a lot of rec. yards), and a goal line rushing TD by Buckley. If you add all of those up, I come up with something like: Highlands 31 Covington Catholic 26 I can't wait for this rematch! I don't know how it could be any more suspenseful than the first one, but you never know what's gonna happen. :banana:

During the last couple of games, Highlands has won by more than 30 points and had a running clock. No wonder there wasn't much noise, haha. Everyone has been saving their voices for this weekend!!! :ylsuper:

I honestly don't remember this happening... :confused: I do remember a game where it was supposed to be a really big game and there was supposed to be a huge storm moving into the area that night, so we changed the game to Saturday (which Friday turned out to be a beautiful evening). But I am pretty sure that is what you are talking about, but not positive.

I have to disagree. Cov. Cath's defense is very solid, much unlike their offense. Though our defense (Highlands) is very tough, we are very volnerable to the deep ball and pretty inconsistant. I hope I didn't just give away our big secret!!! :scared: Obviously, I don't think we need to worry too much about Highlands' offense at this point.

I understand that, but I was simply saying that Anderson and Beaumont were able to rush on us and it seemed like most others weren't able to as well. But our defense has been more susceptible to the long ball.

He may be small, but he sticks to recievers like glue. I am talking about Spencer Head from Highlands. :bunny:
