Dude, all T teams are for the most part big and fast...but all that big and fast ain't the kind of big and fast that you've had in the past...hence the lack of offers for all those "crazy big and fast" guys...hence my point, you can beat anyone if things go right, but you're hardly the T teams of the past that just waltzed through KY teams and the rest of the "super district" is just fine with playing your "crazy big and fast" guys with their big and fast guys...some of whom, like Manual, have more elite DI-A offered "crazy big and fast" guys than you all...hence your preseason ranking based on the opinions of a lot more people than just this dude...dude.

Oh, lord, here we go again. Yeah, Manual, Male, and X are shaking in their boots at the thought of having to play T and their mighty offense with a 5'6 QB. Last year you lost by 1 to an Ensworth team that had a better RB than this year's team did and the same DB's. Then you kept playing that admittedly brutal schedule and got beat up by it...which is what will happen again this year and probably worse this time around because you're even thinner this year than you were last year. I said it last year, and I'll say it again this year, there are no Hatchers, or Quicks, or anyone even close to that level of player on these T teams. Welcome back to earth Trinity. Can you beat everyone in KY on any given night? Yeah, you're still good enough that if all goes right for you, then you can beat anyone. Will you? No, probably not. Plow everyone? :lol2:

I have never understood the whole "new era" thing when coaches take over tradition rich programs...last year it was the whole "new era" thing at St. X. This year it's a "new era" at Warren Central and Corbin. Why can't a new coach just come in and say, "Hey, we're going to do things a little different under my watch. We'll see if it works out."?

From SCKY and WKY... Russellville....it's an old WPA stadium built into the side of a mountain complete with an endzone corner that rises up about 8 feet above the level playing field. Rash Stadium (Owensboro Sr.)...complete with houses all around and bleachers built tight to a turf field that is beautiful. Plus, back in the 90's when Owensboro was rocking, and the fans were mean, it was one of the nastiest places to play. Seen a few batteries flying through the air on the way to locker rooms there. My kind of place. Lone Oak...gone now, but while it was a rickety old stadium with awful amenities, the sound system was like something from the NFL and they weren't afraid to use it on you...and their fans were nuts.

As a new year starts, I see a lot of posts about teams who had good to great years last year but who lost quite a lot and yet, despite what they lost, there seems to be little doubt that they'll at least continue to be successful at a pretty elite level. And it's not just this year, it's every year that it's like this. I call it "preseason reloading optimism". And, just like happens every year, two or three games into the season, the optimism bubble burst for a lot of these teams and fans when they realize just how special "Johnny" was for their team and now he's gone. So, for fun, I figured I'd break down all the Final Four teams from last year into a Reloaded (I think they'll be pretty darn good again this year) and an Unloaded category (I think last year was a flash in the pan, or a good year in a cycle of good and bad years, or just a darn good class). It could be argued that Manual returns as more or more than anyone in the "Super District" and it's not exactly like the others in that district just ran rough-shod over the Crimsons last year. I would hardly mark them as an underdog against a T team with a lot of unprovens, an X team with the same, and a Male team that hit on all cylinders and then tripped.

When it comes to high school athletics, it's about giving kids a chance to be successful in the programs offered by the school. Great decision by the adults in Boone's program.

I believe BGP has found it's Simon Kenton of WKY! South Warren and Doubletake1906 add some serious flavor for us few non-NKY folks on here! On another note, DBLTake, I might be a little more worried that you're about to meet another "sleeping giant" with the state's second highest rated player waiting for y'all up on Louisville Rd. this coming Friday. :whistling: ...and one more thing, a great quote for BG people to remember: Have you ever met a 'hater' doing better than you? the Varsity Final after 3 quarters of play was 13-0. Manual kicked two legit FG's off solid drives and scored their lone TD off an INT that was returned to the 1. Their Defense was impressive.

...which lends itself even more to the question of, if he is essentially financially set, why does a guy leave Texas where there are literally thousands of better coaching gigs to randomly move to BG KY to coach as a position coach for a relatively unremarkable school in the grand scheme of things? I mean, consider some of these things... 1. Guy Morris is no spring chicken, he's not what I would call "old" but he's getting up there in years...that a long move for him to make... 2. Housing - You don't just sorta move from Texas to KY, that's an undertaking. He's just going to buy a house in a town he knows nothing about? 3. Why not Texas - As I said before, consider the possibilities that he could have had in his own backyard, or at better programs ANYWHERE for that matter...why WC? I guess I'm just flustered cause I can't understand it at all...

Give Boone's staff time and it'll only get better. Just give it time....

The move makes no sense.... He left UK because he said he loved Texas so much and wanted to be in his home state... He at least had a home and ties to the Lexington, Central KY area.... So now he's going to move to a town where he has no ties.... And take a job that pays nothing.... And coach for a random high school? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

No, the QB graduated along with some of their O and D lines. They do return a bunch of talent though including a stud of a RB who holds offers as well as a D/OL who is an excellent player and holds offers as well. Regardless of who their QB is, he will have a lot to work with and if he is good, they'll be a real threat in the West.

Great skill players change games against bad teams, no matter where they are: be it kick returns, or at QB, or WR, or RB, or DB. Floyd is no doubt a good player, but the gushing on this board for just how good "he ought to be" if not for "being so wrongfully played out of position" is comical. In 2008, Lone Oak came off a 14-1 2007 year and lost Corey Robinson. They looked around and realized they didn't have a QB. So they took a DI-A offered Jamarielle Brown and stuck him at QB. Could he throw? Not Really. Was he a QB? No, he signed as a WR and played in college as a WR. But regardless, Lone Oak wen't 10-2 with him there. Why? Because that's what happens when you put the ball in a next level skill guy's hands every play. I hope the Floyd kids lands somewhere and proves me wrong, but until he does, I have a hard time swallowing just how misused and wronged he has been done by the Boone Co. program and their need to try and utilize him as best they could given the situations they encountered last season.
