I know they have a heck of a running back in Michael Nero.

the Varsity Final after 3 quarters of play was 13-0. Manual kicked two legit FG's off solid drives and scored their lone TD off an INT that was returned to the 1. Their Defense was impressive.

The streak is obviously in jeopardy but don't get too excited Manual according to my source is better than last year.

Nah.... They just need to earn their stripes like everyone like everyone else. This team that they currently have has done nothing and earned nothing yet, but yet people have talked about them repeating or going undefeated again. That is unfair to those kids IMO. Like I have said before, this team will have a winning record and they will be decent, but this is not last years team! That was a special group of guys who went undefeated since middle school. And that is OK. There are plenty of other schools and players on other teams in BG that deserve the SPOTLIGHT.

BG has been so dominant the past 3 years, people just assume that'll continue, but, reality is, rosters change every year and there's going to be a down year occassionally. I think the Purples have established themselves as a great program and will likely still be very competitive, maybe not 10-0 dominant competitive, but, still a good team. This very well could be the year a J.Hardin, WCentral or even a Graves Co team finally gets over that BG hump, but, even if they do, I guarantee it won't be without a tough fight.

Whether it's unfair or not it is now part of it. No matter how bad X or T does, that added pressure of winning will always be on their backs. It just comes with the territory. I'm sure the purples will be fine by the time December rolls around.

I don't recall seeing anyone on BGP say they'll go undefeated. Most people on BGP are saying they won't get the streak.

 

Unfair to those kids? A lot is demanded and expected from every kid who attends Bowling Green from academics to athletics. Always has been always will be. As it should be.

 

Plenty of other schools who deserve the spotlight? Then post about those schools. Start threads about them and give them the spotlight they deserve.
