South looked impressive in the win gave up 79 yard run to Eli on a broken play and jv gave up a long run to east in final min of game. Strong showing for smiths Spartans

South showed they deserve a top ten bid! Good game Spartans

They looked very impressive on defense again. Offense still having problems penalties and turnovers. But offense is more opened up and using more weapons.

Coach Smith the Younger is a winnah in his debut as Sparty head coach...congratulations!:thumb:

Wow! How bout that S Warren offense!

Doesn't WE return alot from last years team? Thought I heard that somewhere. Expected this one to be a little closer..

They said they had 27 Seniors.... I am not sure. They look better then they did last year, and I am sure once they get things figured out they will be a much improved team, but this one just came down to depth of talent and execution. SW is much more athletic then people anticipated and their defense is still creating havoc and forcing turnovers.

Took a bath on this one...brutal loss for the Raiders as I fully expected a blowout of the Spartans. SW earned their bragging rights in this one. Ugh. :isurrender:

Warren east returned 20+ sr, including UK commit Eli Brown. According to the paper east had a total of 290 yards for game. Of which 217 come on 4 plays in second half and 97 in final minutes when Souths second team was in. 79 came from brown on the 79 yard touch down run and he had 79 doe the game. As I said in another thread the defense really didn't miss a beatin this game. Yes they gave up more points and yards and that was expected due to loss of Middleton but the players are in the right position to make plays. They are very well coached and don't make very many mistakes. Yes there avg points allowed will rise and not be the 4.3.
