Thought the third down draw play was a terrible call.

We are full on in a QB mess...not controversy....mess, neither one looked good tonight.

Saw the final 7 minutes on the Ensworth Live Network. Has Trinity changed their uniforms? Helments looked as if they had no emblum on them...?

According to Trinity twitter, it was a mistake when they were making the helmets. Also said they would be on there next week.

T is going to need some leaders to step up. This kind of performance and result can hurt a young team's psyche, especially after last year, if you're not careful. The opponents get no easier.

They had a chance but not get it done. Who and what happened on the 2 unsportsmanlike conducts?

^ sideline interference on a questionable catch by Ensworth.....I can't really say if it was just, but we were given a warning earlier in the game....so....then Reisert started jawing with an official and got another 15.......it ended up being about an 8 yard play (that was not a first down), turned into a 26 yard penalty...and a first and goal. Back breaker.

Not sure. On the Enswoerth video feed, the announcers (no bastions of commentary excellence) implied that the first one was on a Trinity coach going onto the field evidently to protest a call awarding Ensworth a reception. The second one, I think, was on a T player complaining to a ref just a matter of seconds after the first penalty was called.

Doesn't Ensworth have a

Stud JR running back? Remember a Soph from last year that was a beast. If so, how did he do and does anyone have a name?

Ensworth gained 70 yards rushing on 35 carries, according to their announcers.

Make no mistake, Ensworth seemed better......we looked very rough......and tired.....and made boneheaded mistakes...very uncharacteristic manner to lose, for us.

I agree. Maybe the coaches will spin it as our second scrimmage and look for marked improvement next game.

Ensworth didn't play or look that good. The final series had some poor play calling. The WR screens that Trinity had been using all night really didn't gain much yardage from what I saw. Two minutes left in the game and on the fifty yard line T's still running the ball and using WR screens? Does T have any long yardage pass plays in the playbook? If they do, they should start using them to stretch the D. Both teams had turnovers, which usually happens in HS football. Rocks played tough and have nothing to hang their heads about. Rocks will improve every game, but their schedule is brutal.

I feel the unsportsmanlike penalty on #15 for T for the "emaculate" reception was him being the defender and the closest one to the play, maybe he saw something nobody else saw. They showed the catch many times but was not clear enough for me to see online if the ball had hit the ground before he scooped it up. Great effort by both teams.

From what I saw he didn't catch the ball....in reality, I have no idea....the sideline interference? Can't say, but the second was inexcusable.....right call by refs....First games are truly rough, particularly with out of state teams, you just don't know what you're gonna see...tremendous venue....There are very visible aspects of our team that need to be tweaked, and I have the utmost confidence that they'll be accomplished....playing a schedule like this, is a tough gauge as to where you stand amongst your peers...
