Hard to believe but the Owls done a wonderful job of controlling the basketball and making plays when needed. Hard to see the Bobcats go this way but those young men who are seniors have had a great career.

What is that supposed to mean? Powell has only played 7 games at home this year!

Kyle Lively took a team that won less than 8 games last year and has made a regional contender out of Powell. They won a tourney at Letcher Central and finished 5-1 in their district. Has to be considered one of the top three. As for Coach Banks I would have to agree that he has turned that program around but from previous posts by the Breathitt faithful, that team was already in place and was destined to win. I asked the quetion earlier in the year about the turnaround from last year and was informed (quite matter of factly) that he was handed a talented team that was supposed to win???? Not trying to stir the pot.... just asking????

The Maroons always seem to be ready at tourney time.

GRC has been banged around a little in the last 2 weeks or so and it is hard for a great competitor to hold their composure when that happens. Of the 3 or 4 games I have seen the kid play he has always been respectable and competetive. I am not around the program everyday but if someone knows something we are not seeing PM me and share the knowledge. I think the kid is the best basketball talent to come in Winchester in several years.

I agree that there aren't any dominant pitchers this year. Will be a hitters year in 07. Better score some runs and play defense.

What is the staus on Berryman? I have heard he is out for the year and I have heard he will be ready in a week or so????

Powell's style eliminates a lot of oppertunity to play any structured defense. They are 10 deep and get up and down the floor everynight. A good showing on the road for the Pirates against a very capable PCC team. Should be a great March in the 14th.

Brewer,Berryman and Freeman are all lefty's and are tough! Sweeeeeet.

A lot closer than expected but you can't rule Wolfe out in any tournament and in any year!

Without Berryman Estill will struggle badly. Hopefully a speedy and successful recovery. He is fun to watch and can shoot the lights out.

I think that is a legit top 10. Powell probably should have been in there at #10. They have beaten Cumberland twice this year at home and on a nuetral court.

I agree with you prof on all but one. I think KCC will come with JBS out of the 53rd. It will be exciting and fun in Whitesburg.

??????? You are joking right? I have been hearing that the Owls aren't even practicing everyday? Any truths to that Prof? The Owls have a storied past and some great kids and supportrers but it would take the Owls at their best and the Bobcats at their worst for anything special to happen.

Campbell didn't play but about 12 minutes because of the foul trouble. Powell just out hustled them and played harder. Great game from one of Powell's guards. Pelfrey had 20 and if they can get some consistent guard play to go with Romans they will be a force to contend with. Hicks can shoot it from anywhere over the center court line and make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good win for the Pirates.
