  1. I'm confused! If the quarterback isn't able to deliver, why not try someone else at that position? If a play you've run over and over isn't working why not try something different? If the pass coverage and receivers aren't doing their jobs, why not try someone else? If someone is quite possibly leading the team in defensive tackles why are they not in there for every defensive play? IMO this loss goes to the coaches! The kids played hard but they're not making the decisions. This was a winnable game for Ashland! We have more than one that can play qb, more than 2 or 3 that can run the ball and more than 2-3 that can catch the ball. Let's use our imaginations coaches and try something different!
  2. I believe that Ashland should be above Boyd County
  3. Ashland's #65 Josh Salisbury 6'1" 270lbs. could be a first team all state selection this year on the O line or the D line
  4. Two years ago, the Tomcats lost to Raceland in their opening game. They won almost all the rest of their games that season (I think 3 loses maybe). The loss to Raceland seem to get them fired up and they went on to have a very good season. That may very well be the case again this year. We have a good senior class and several talented sophomores and juniors. This senior class is close and have played football together many years. Many of them are good friends, both on and off the football field. I think they will get it together and be OK. TOMCATS-- WE BELIEVE!!!!!
  5. Ashland 28 Raceland 7
  6. Carter is still on the team. He was on the sidelines for Friday's game against Mason but did not dress due to injury. I am 100% sure of this statement.
  7. McLeod and Demartino split carries through out the game, and McLeod had a touchdown. They both looked tough running the ball last night.
  8. Ashland varsity won 26-7 in the first three quarters. They only had to punt once, which I found very impressive.=, and they scored on their first 4 possessions. The O-Line was dominant, and the game was really never in question for the Tomcats. Drew Royalty went either 5-6 or 6-7 with a touchdown pass to Bonner. Good luck to Mason throughout the year!
  9. Carter did not play in this game, and neither did starting tackle JC Thompson, who was out with a minor shoulder injury.
  10. They scrimmaged until about 2:30 so they had a nice 3 hour game. Ashland's defense looked much better than it did at any point throughout last season, so I came away impressed with that. Their biggest problem was on the O-Line. They either got sacked or had to throw the ball away at least 6 or 7 times. If they can improve on that then they will have a good team. Campbell looked good on D as well, and they threw the ball well towards the end of the game. I look for them to have a strong season this year. Their screens got to the Tomcats, so that will be a big part of their game plan, as it has been in the past.
  11. The Carter rumor is not true. I have confirmed that he is going to be at practice most likely tomorrow, and Thursday at the latest.
  12. Sounds like a very nice workout. Ill have to watch this kid in the upcoming season.
  13. Carter has been to the last three practices. He has also been showing up for lifting and conditioning every day as of late. I can see a big attitude adjustment in him, and I look for him to have a big year. Ashland will be returning a lot of starters from last seasons team, so I believe that expierence will come into play a lot this year. I look for a major improvement, and a whole lot of a stronger, and faster defense.
  14. How big is he, how much did he bench, and what was his 40 time? Sorry for so many questions, just trying to get some information.
  15. Who pitched for Ashland?
  16. Wasn't Juan Thomas the Gatorade Played of the Year for the state of KY in 1990? If so, then I think he obviously had the better high school career of the the three from Ashland.
  17. I would guess Ashland had around 45 kids at their spring practice.
  18. Anybody know where Thomas or Clemmons is goin to school next year?
  19. I think it would be nice to get him back at Ashland as an assistant, but I dont see that happening. He deserves a head coaching job at some school.
  20. Is West that good this year?
  21. Who could Ashland get better than Buddy Biggs? The answer is very few if not anyone.
  22. I know him and his family, and I can assure you that this rumor is not true. But I do agree with you, I look for Rashard Carter to have a monster season.
  23. Thomas only had 7? That does not sound like him at all. Did he have a bad game or did they focus all their defensive attention on him?
