  6. I'm in agreement with Loose Rhythm. It will be an outside hire.
  7. Just received an official notification from St. X., that Mike Glaser will be retiring as head football coach at the completion of this season. Mike Glaser to Retire as St. X Football Coach After more than forty years as a football coach at Saint Xavier High School, Coach Mike Glaser has decided that this fall, his thirty-first year as Head Coach, will be his final season at the helm of the Tiger football program. During his tenure, Saint Xavier’s football program has earned an incredible 328 victories. His overall record of 328-73 includes seven KHSAA State Championships, five state runner-up finishes, and ranks him fourth all-time in wins by Kentucky high school football coaches. While this record speaks for itself, Coach Glaser’s greatest contributions always have been in the role that he has played in the overall formation, growth and development of the more than two thousand young men who have been part of St. X’s largest extracurricular activity. While he will be leaving his position in the football program, Coach Glaser, a 1970 graduate of St. X, will continue to serve the Saint Xavier community as he transitions to a new position of leadership. Beginning with the 2013-14 school year, he will serve as the Director of Activities, a position in which he will play a key role in the coordination of all student activities and in the promotion and recognition of our students, faculty, and school. St. X Athletic Director Alan Donhoff said of Coach Glaser, “Mike is a great ambassador for St. X, in addition to being one of the best high school coaches in the history of our state. He has never received all of the public accolades that he deserves for the job that he has done. While his record speaks for itself, his players, past and present, hold him in the highest esteem as their coach and as their mentor. I look forward to working with Mike in his new capacity next year.”
  8. When occupying the same volume of space, muscle tissue does outweigh fat tissue due simply to its higher density. This is the concept that AvidTiger is trying to get across when describing Austin Davis' body development. Some people obviously have trouble with the laws of physics.
  9. Way to go never-say-die Tigers!
  10. I feel very fortunate to have had the pleasure of personally sharing thoughts about football and life in general with Larry at St. X. vs. Male ball games. He was a very well-versed, sincere individual, who loved to share his passion for God, family, and Male and Alabama football. Needless to say, I am shocked to hear of his untimely passing. My prayers go out to his family. BGP will never quite be the same without him. May the road rise up to meet you, Larry.

  12. It's even better better since a Tiger got #1 in the contest!

  19. One of the best things about this is that four of the Tigers are only juniors, so the Xmen will be loaded again next year...............WAY TO GO, St. X.!!!!! :ylsuper:
  20. If that occurred, Larry, then you must have been getting very close to TD's personal skybox location. Obviously the Tigertown celeb security force mistakenly thought that you were another one of those National Inquirer-type reporters threatening Tony Danza's privacy. I'm sorry, I forgot to give you the secret password. :sssh:  :sssh:
  21. Karl has been doing a bang-up job for the Tigers, CR. He is extremely effective at rushing the passer from a 5-technique, and holds up well against double teams when the opposition tries to run at him. Roessler is blessed with both strength and quickness. I would definitely rate him as our best defensive lineman, and thankfully he has one more year yet to go. Sadly, most of his grade school teammates from an outstanding St. Patrick's Toy Bowl team are populating your Rock roster.
  22. Both Clipper and I were very glad we got to meet and talk with you also, Larry. I think we found out that we know a lot of the same people. :thumb: By the way, if you wanted to meet Tony Danza, you needed to take an elevator ride. You know how those famous celebrities are always securely stashed in high places.
  23. I don't think he meant that X would hold T to a total of only 14 points, but rather that T's final margin of victory would be a 14-point spread. You may want to re-read his post.
  24. PRP is a very athletic team. Sumpter, their QB is an excellent passer, but as a team, they are very weak running the ball. To me the big difference in this game is Henderson County's home field advantage. The Panthers have not played any games outside of Jefferson County, so I expect them to have a problem adjusting to this 3-hour bus ride. Henderson County 28 - Pleasure Ridge Park 21
  25. The Tigers played their first game in a rented vacant lot called Lutz Park against Jeffersonville on October 13, 1917. They emerged with an 18-0 victory. St. X. finished a 5-game season with a 2-3 record. They then went two years (1918 & 1919) without fielding a team, before resuming competition in 1920, and have played continuously ever since. As of right now (11/9/11), the Tigers have an all-time total of 707 victories, 269 losses and 20 ties.
