  3. The lid on this one is being kept as tight as the Bin Ladin seal team raid, but right now I am leaning to Stephan LeFors. It should also not be overlooked, however, that there are also some former X alums who are currently coaching in pro and college ranks, who just may want to come back to Tigertown to lead a more sedate and secure family life. One never knows, does one?
  4. No matter who gets the HC job, I believe there will be a lot of new coaches on the staff.
  5. I really think you are barking up the wrong tree, guru, for the many reasons I gave before. We'll just have to wait and see. Personally I think the leak is from an empty pipe.

  7. You have to take what he says with a grain of salt. Despite his name, he is a Trinity fan, trying to get in his digs on St. X., since his team has an open week this week.
  8. Congratulations to Bowling Green on their victory tonight. From listening to the radio announcers, the Purples totally out-coached and out-played the Tigers. The X defense, which should be a pillar of strength, is playing totally out of kilter...missed tackles and horrible pass coverage. The X offense was so predictable, that Bowling Green could load the box with nine players and have no fear that X would run quick split-back traps, quick pop passes to the tight end, or screen passes to the backs. I really felt sorry for Charles Walker trying to run from a deep 1-back set against that smothering quick BG defense. Top all this off with far too many mental errors, which resulted in numerous penalties for the second week in a row. Wish the Tigers had a bye week next week so that they could totally regroup. Don't get me wrong, Bowling Green is an outstanding team, but even in a loss we should never look this bad.
  9. Wife is not feeling too good today, so it looks like she and I will be sitting beside the radio tonight. We hate missing the chance to watch great football and visit with Mr. & Mrs. PurpleHaze. Good luck to both teams.....with just a little more luck on the Tiger side to allow them to win a hard earned victory..... St. X. 24 - Bowling Green 21.

  17. Manual is imploding from within. Despite being a squad populated with very talented individuals, Manual has looked pathetic in both the big loss to 3A Central and the narrow 14-7 victory over a very weak Fern Creek squad. The Crimsons are no where close to deserving a decent ranking. Having seen Simon Kenton up close and personal in the game-type scrimmage against St. X. a few weeks ago, I think once again like last year you are viewing your team through highly tinted lenses, and we both know how your team ended up last year. Four and five point wins over decent 1A and 2A teams, does not lend much support to your ranking argument for a 6A team. In regards to MaxPreps, they know a lot about Texas, but very little about Kentucky. They just see a 6A team who has a 2-0 record and assign them a "27" ranking. By the way, where did Simon Kenton end up last year in the Max Prep rankings?
  18. I don't think PRP is getting the same respect at this time as Eastern, Male, Butler, and Ballard because of their extremely weak schedule. The Panthers have two big-on-the-scoreboard victories so far, but they are against two weak 4A teams, Fairdale and Valley. All the other schools ranked above them are playing 6A caliper teams.
  19. There was no reported injury. He was suffering from dehydration. He is ready for the trip to Purpleville, and the chance to perform before Mr. & Mrs. PurpleHaze.......GO TIGERS!! :ylsuper:  :ylsuper:
  20. You have perfectly described my views of this game also. That was the worst display of tackling and secondary play that I have ever seen. Lexington Catholic had a number of players who just wanted to avoid contact at all costs. The Ensworth backs and receivers weaved through them like they were dodging through implanted tombstones. There was even a big example of this contact fear on offense as well. While there were a number of Knight receivers who did a great job of catching the ball and taking hits in traffic, there was one receiver who kept dropping perfect passes, or would fumble the ball without contact, anytime an Ensworth defensive player was within two yards of him. I think if I was Bolin, I would never bother throwing to this player again.
  21. This is a great game to win, for it shows a big TEAM heart to fight through all the adversity that the Tigers encountered. However, this game raised a big red flag to me. What happened to our great defense? Aside from the front four, who once again played magnificiently, they seemed to frequently fall asleep at the wheel. I hope they do a lot of film study of this game and figure out what went wrong before we encounter Bowling Green next week.
  22. Mark Sanders showed that he is a coach who can get the job done. DeSales is really going to miss his presence when the Colts look at their won/loss record. How many years has it been since Iroquois started 1-0?
  23. What in the world is going on with Jenkins this season? This is their second big win in a row by a gigantic margin. This upset of Allen Central knocks me out of the Staying Alive Contest. :ohbrother:
  24. The Tigers will get this one by a 28-7 count.
