I just want to know if Beechwood executed many deep post patterns against Simon Kenton tonight? I know their scouts were licking their chops about the possibilities after watching St. X.'s scrimmage against the Pioneers.

This one really surprised me.
-
The Crimsons blew out to a 41-7 lead with 3:30 left in the game, but Manual subs gave up a 97 yard kickoff return, and an 85 yard pass play, plus two 2-point conversions to allow Fern Creek to close the gap to 41-22. Many of the Fern Creek starters, who were suspended last week against St. X., returned to game action this week.

Fern Creek scores again with 20 seconds left on 85 yard pass play against Crimson subs. Manual 41 Fern Creek 22.......................Final.
-
With 3:30 left, Fern Creek scores on 97 yard kickoff return, Manual 41 Fern Creek 14.
-
QB Thompson scores for Manual and extra point is missed. Manual 34 Fern Creek 0 with 1:34 left in the 3rd Quarter.
-
With6:47 left in the 3rd Quarter, Warr scores and Manual moves to a 28-0 lead.
-
With 8 minutes to go in the 3rd Quarter, it's Manual 21 Fern Creek 0.

I should be so rich, Pep! I don't really disagree with the Tigers ranking at this point based on the fact that they haven't played any good competition as yet (SK was without their two best players, and FC had almost half their starters suspended). In addition I want to see if they have improved a lot over their JV and freshman performances, where they had losses to Central, Ballard, Male, and Manual, in addition to Trinity, Highlands, and the Cincy powers. I'm waiting to see how X does against Riverdale and Bowling Green in the next two games. These tests should provide a true barometer of the Tigers' prowess.

Sorry, but those records are correct. Go to saintx.com, then athletics, then teams and schedules, then football-junior varsity, then look at 2010-2011 results for current juniors and 2009-2010 results for current seniors. For current sophomores go to football-freshman then look at 2010-2011 to get their results. There is no need to worry about any of this, however, if you just go one game at a time, focus, execute and win..............GO TIGERS!!
-
Yes....that Male, that Manual, that Central, plus that Bowling Green. Our senior class was only 4-5 as JV's. Our junior class was only 6-4 as JV's. Our sophomore class was only 5-5 as freshmen. These are the three classes that make up our current varsity. All emotion aside, and thinking with the head and not the heart, these historical game results show that as a TEAM, we have a lot of proving to do. One game at a time................GO TIGERS!!

Let's get real here. Looking at St. X.'s schedule, most everyone would agree that the Tigers are heavy favorites against Fern Creek and Doss, and underdogs against Riverdale, Trinity, Moeller, and Cincy St. X. The remaining four games against Central, Bowling Green, Male, and Manual should be highly competitive tossups. It was great to see X get a 70-0 win, and almost everyone get a lot of playing time. However, that Fern Creek team opposing them was very weak to start, and made vastly weaker by playing with 10 (not 8 as previously reported) starters out on suspension. On top of that, they were playing their first game under a new coach with a new offense and defense. As far as advancing the Tigers experience in preparation for tough opponents, this game did them no good. Sadly, it was not much better than taking the field and running the offensive and defensive plays "on air". I love the new offense, defense, and enthusiasm; but for me the jury is still out until we see how they perform against Riverdale and Bowling Green in the next two games......GO TIGERS!!

The final was 70-0.
