I couldn't have said it better myself, Professor. The Owls have nothing to be ashamed of. Coach Noble, Coach Hensley and Coach Davidson along with the boys have worked hard this year, having many ups and downs and come along way. Even though I wish this game would have turned out different, I am extremely proud of the boys. They gave it their all and almost had an upset. Again, Congratulations to all the Owls staff and players and thanks for a great season. I am already looking forward to next year.

Lee could suprise everyone. They have improved tremendously since the first part of the season. Powell only defeated Lee by 5 in January, but was defeated in double digits a month later. I know they have lost the last few games, but their February schedule has not been an easy one. (Jackson County, Breathitt, Morgan) I think this game will be closer than anyone expects.

The Lady Owls lost by 18 points, but the Lady Commodores only led by 7 with 4 to go in the 3rd quarter. From what I was told, the game was close during the first half, but PCC's bench proved too much for the Lady Owls. I agree with the Professor, the last 5 games they have played have been their best this season and if Kendra Combs is well, the Lady Owls can defeat the Lady Neers. I think the Lady Owls are ready for district play. They have had numerous problems this season, but didn't give up and quit when the going got tough, so I will agree with Owlz Fan and say the Lady Owls will win by 10+ on Tuesday night at Powell. Go Lady Owls.

It was at Buckhorn and I think it was their senior night.

I have to agree with you 100% I have seen this in our gym and I think it is so funny when this is happening. What is this teaching their child about teamwork? Not much except the game is about me, me, me.

By the way, using one of my favorite quotes to the Lady Owls, but modifying it alittle! "Now that's the way you play ball!!!" One of the best defensive games by all of the Lady Owls that I have seen!!!

At Owsley County during senior night, the Lady Owls defeated Redbird very easily. The girls have been waiting for this game, since they went to Redbird on January 4 where they were defeated. Soon after this game, the girls coach of 3 years abruptly left for another job. The Lady Owls have struggled but have pulled it together for tournament time with the help of their Co-coaches Gary Cornett and Chad Mason with four back to back wins.(Tonight Redbird, last night Buckhorn) Congrats to the Lady Owls and good luck to seniors Kendra Combs, Myra Thomas and Corina Thacker.

I also agree with The Ville and 3 Point Plan; the fans should get behind the athletes which as 3 point play pointed out are kids and focus all their energy on them instead of the negative talk. I don't think you can judge any coach by one season. I think Coach Banks is a good person and coach and will get the program straightened out, if the administration will let him.

I've not heard anything, but am interested in finding out details.

I don't know all the details, but if LCA is giving priority to athletes when they are giving their scholarships, they should be investigated and sanctioned.

It was an extremely lopsided game. I applaud the Owsley Coaches for putting in the JV in the 2nd quarter. Every player on the bench did play and for extended amounts of time, not just 1-2 minutes. Congrats to the Lady Owls. Good luck on Monday!!!!

As a former coach and looking at the team today, I think they play great defense so I wouldn't change that, but their offense is a different story. I don't know what has happened to them, but their shooting has went down hill. In my opinion, to have a strong offensive team, you must have threats inside and outside the paint. If you do the same moves/play over and over again, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

I really think that is terrible to have the games being played the same night at different gyms, even thought they may be close. They seem to forget that an important part of sports is the fans and some of the fans will pick one or the other to go to for several reasons - money, time, etc and that is not fair to the athletes. I think this horrible and if this happened in my district I would be calling the administration and asking why this happened. (If the tourney in your district is run like ours 56th, the host school holds the district meeting and the coaches vote on times and days to have the tournament.)

Wow a barnburner. These games are always exciting..especially with the huge crowds that are usually at Clay County.

I'm sure they will appreciate it more since it is facts!!!
