Region13 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Great Game! The Lady Tigers really should have came away with this win. They lead most of the game by as many as 9. Lady Tigers just seem to be struggling with their outside shot, but overall great game! Natalie Novasole lead Lexington Cath. with 26 Clay Co lead by Gemma Gray with 16 and Belle Jackson with 15
Region13 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Yes the game was at Clay County but anyone that was their can tell you it was a fair called game. Clay County actually had more fouls than Catholic. Also they was a play at the end of the game where Gray drove in for Clay Co and the refs could have easily called a foul and gave her a chance to tie the game but the refs didnt call the foul, and I honestly thought she was fouled.
Region13 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Also I was not very impressed with catholic, without Novesal they dont have a team. But Novesal is probally the best player I have saw all year long.

Didn't say anything about the refs. Just wondering where it was played.:thumb:
1owlzfan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Wow a barnburner. These games are always exciting..especially with the huge crowds that are usually at Clay County.
Region13 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Sorry, my bad. But after seeing Lexington Catholic tonight I dont see them winning the 11th region, they just did not look like the Lexington Catholic team that I have got use to seeing over the years. Novesale is a great player, but it seems like she is having to do all the work.
UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Sorry, my bad. Novesale is a great player, but it seems like she is having to do all the work. Not sure what is wrong with the team right now. Their last game before this against CAL was also a pretty lethargic and an unimpressive performance where they stuggled to pick up the win. This team has played some games this season where you can be impressed with their talent. However they have also been capable of some less noteworthy performances. That isn't to take anything away from Casey Co. who im sure played well themself tonight, but having seen Lexington Catholic play many times this season against some of the top competition not just in this state but other states I feel its safe to say they aren't playing good basketball right now. Casey Co. like any team however, is gonna play their opponent no matter how good or bad their performance is and tonight it sounds like they out played the Lady Knights. Plain and simple, you are right Region 13, if this Lady Knights team doesn't wake up soon then they don't have much chance of winning the 11th with LCA and Dunbar waiting on them. I have been worried about this team's lack of intensity and sometimes toughness throughout the year.
Athlete7 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 As of right now, I dont know if anyone can beat Dunbar. They are on fire. But they may get a little tight come tournament time when the nerves start factoring into play a little more. Can they handle the pressure in the region? We'll see. Im going to have to go on a limb though and say that LCA will win this region.
Region13 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 underthebridge- I think your meaning Clay County when you say Casey County.

UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 This is a little worrisome for them next year. Do they have any players coming up? Maggie Wilson is going to be a big key to this team next year. They will be down but they have some good players returning who can at least keep them competitive. Danielle Corbett is a junior I believe who has shot lights out against some of the better teams on Lex Cath's schedule this year and will be called on to step up. Mcghee I believe is a sophmore or junior for the team this year and a good defender and undersized but very athletic forward. Their final consistent player who will return next year is Annagale Scott who is a good ball handler and defensive player. This group is young but has gotten some good playing time this year. They also have a group of younger height on the bench and it will be interesting to see how these girls do next year. Only one plays at all this year but they are going to be raw and a bit down next year.
