Apollo 18 John Hardin 13
John Hardin has got to be one of the best 1-3 teams in the state. Apollo D was strong and the offensive line did a good job tonight especially the 2nd half.

Best offensive lineman in West Ky ?
Although I have not seen ALL the line men in Western Ky as I doubt anyone has, but I did see Hines in the Rafferty Bowl and while he did not have a great great game, I would still put him at the top on just what I saw...

Best high school football/basketball player ever in Kentucky
Higgs and Wilkerson did not play basketball enough to mention, although I believe Wilkerson was the high school soccer play of the year for Kentucky...

If you could only attend one game this weekend (9/1/06 edition)
But then I am sure alot of these games have the same factors...

If you could only attend one game this weekend (9/1/06 edition)
The BG/Warren game would be my choice. After hearing so much "trash" talk at the Rafferty bowl between the fans of these two teams and the fact of pride in the same area would make it interesting

Mason County 23 Montgomery County 20
Thanks Chief. It sounds like you guys have a good QB this year which always helps. I know from experience that Gooch can light a fire under some players if they are not performing well.

Mason County 23 Montgomery County 20
I had wondered what Montgomery Co. was like this year. Gooch was a coach here in Owensboro for several years and I thought that Montgomery got them a good one when he left here. Sounds like he might me turning them around a little.

Anyone know the score of Muhlenburg North vs. Bullitt Central?
The game ended after 1:00 a.m. or later with Bullitt getting a 41-0 romp. Touch start for North's new coach, but I bet he will always remember it because of the long delay:sleep:

Anyone know the score of Muhlenburg North vs. Bullitt Central?
I am going to say that it was. That whole area was hit hard with one down pour after another and the lightning "counter" would have been started every 2-3 minutes.

Bowl games experiences over the years.
I agree 100%. That was my first time at the Rafferty Bowl and came away impressed. Good seats all around, nice promotion of the event and some good people running it. I encourage anyone who has not gone to that to try and go sometime.:ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Anyone know the score of Muhlenburg North vs. Bullitt Central?
Central was leading 13-0 in the 1st when lightning cleared the field. As our 10:00 p.m. local time it had not resumed

St. Xavier 15 Bowling Green 7
The CB Beard also had a lot of turf in front of him. I believe he saw touchdown before the ball was in his hands.

Castle (IN) 45 Henderson Co. 19
How did they practice after the incident that happen?

St. Xavier 15 Bowling Green 7
Just got in from the game. I was impressed with Finch kid for sure. Just a soph. but had some great cuts when the ball was in his hands. QB rotation was a concern as I felt neither team had QB'S at the best even though the #1 BG QB was out for the game. I also wonder about the Hibbits kid from BG. Went out with a high ankle injury ( I believe ) in 1st qt. and did not return. I wonder what difference would he had made. Opinions??

South Spencer, Ind. 35 Owensboro Catholic 8
I still look for OC to go undefeated in district play. This was a game to build on. Not to take away anything from South, because they were a good team, and I thought Walker did well for the 1st game. Some dropped passes by some receivers will be corrected and Ijames back in the fold along with Logan Bell back on the line will help. A loss to OHS will also not hurt them next week as I see them losing again, but that is next week. One thing is for sure. They need to start hitting people on the defensive side of the ball. Stopping the run is a big weak point right now.

Hopkins Central vs. Apollo
I agree with and I believe it may be one of the few that Apollo wins. I see them 5-5 at best and that may be a bit of a stretch.

Apollo Ben Duvall committed to Purdue
Duvall chooses Purdue over Duke , Wake Forest, Louisville and Kentucky to name a few. A top linebacker who finished with 146 tackles in 10 games last year. Congrats to Ben and hope you have a great senior year.:dancingpa

2006 NFHS Football rules
Read the NFHS rules/case book...Take the test..Get certified and call a game with that interpretation and my quess it would be your last for that association. I am not "covering" my fellow officials, but FBrule is 100% correct on this.

Owensboro Area Predictions - Preseason
Edge said they simply did not get the job done. The reporter mentioned the third QB in 3 years and that he had some excellent receivers coming back. They interviewed Norcia and Holland and both said that the underclassmen can look to the seniors for leadership this year and they looked forward to this season. Also there was some talk on the new home field and where that was going (progress etc...)

Owensboro Area Predictions - Preseason
I had heard that Ijames was possibly going to set out this year and work only on baseball. So he is going to play football?
