  1. You guys have a good one. He sent Daviess Co to the "elite 8" around 2004 or so and he is a great teacher of the game. Good luck with him and your team
  2. Wow 2000 yards!!! I know it is a typo, but you are correct. I have often said if there is a such thing as a Tony Franklin School of defense, then the Aces would benefit from it I would hope.
  3. Well I think this will be a great game. OC will have to contain the duo of Bridges and Mayes. While Bush may not throw the ball alot, he seems to be effective when he does. One factor is that Caldwell running a similar offense as OC will not surprise Trigg as they were able to see it last week. Big plays on special teams may play a part in the outcome as Holland from OC is dangerous. No prediction from me as: as they say" it's too close to call". Good luck to both teams....
  4. Well let me rephrase that some schools in 2A and 4A are doing this year for example Regions 2 and 3 in 2A and Regions 2 and 3 in 4A
  5. So next year, as I understand it, 1A and 3A will play opposite regions in the "semi finalist" qualifier like 2A and 4A are doing this year. This is the 1st year for that I suppose???
  6. If Corbin and Larue are from the same region should they be playing one another this week end. Same with Russell and Mercer, Male and Meade and last Trinty and Ryle. I am sure I am looking over something that makes this the case, just not sure what it is.
  7. I am trying to fiqure the regional championship games this week-end and I will say some interesting matchups exist. However, and I know there is a good reason for this and I just do not know what it is, if this is a regional championship weekend why are some teams from 2 different regions playing for regional championships? I am sure there are good reasons for it. Has it always been like this?
  8. I saw Warren played a average at best Franklin Simpson team in the Rafferty Bowl at the start of the season and only saw Henderson once against OHS this past week-end. Having said that, I believe WC may win the game, but if they let Henderson hang around, the Colonels could bring home the regional. Lightfoot at punter is dangerous which just adds to the Colonels offensive power. If he had punted in the first game between these two (OHS-Henderson) Henderson, IMO, would had won it also. Henderson is playing well right now. Great adjustments against OHS this past week-end. Go Colonels.
  9. Many thanks. I have called WAVJ and am looking to set up something to keep all interested parties informed.
  10. I was looking to call them and exchange updates with them from the Owensboro Catholic game.
  11. Does anyone know what station wil be calling this game? Looking for any information where up dates are available by calling the station(s)
  12. Is this game going to be broadcast? If so, what stations will be calling it ?
  13. Travis has been doing some assistant coaching at Hancock
  14. I agree with you on the first sentence of post #33, however it appears from your second statement an inference that all other teams ARE playing for 2nd place this year. Good Luck to Russell, as well as all other teams, in a state championship quest.
  15. Just wondering if OC faithful along with any team on here did not post, would BGP exist
  16. Travis Atwell (Mr. Football approx. 1999) was mentioned as a possible replacement.
  17. Pay is different for most associations We have 65.00 for Varsity, 65.00 for middle school (2 games short quarters), 40 for j.v. and freshman and 25-35 for pop warner approx 6-8 games per week
  18. BTW I think some of the best pure football for the game that it is is played in the mountains.
  19. They (coaches) may or may not test out well, but as I am sure you are aware taking a test and live play and making calls are like night and day.
  20. They make a whistle that fits on your finger so you have to bring it up to your month every time. This makes you think a liile more before you blow the whistle. Good thing for new guys.
  21. Good officials should call what they see, not what a coach or coaches say they see, or fans for that matter because they more than likely looking at something altogether different. Officals can not be a fan of the game while they are calling, they have to be much more. Five guys (and yes some women) watching 22 players going in different directions with a ball some where in there, also watching the sidelines, coaches, fans helping (chain gang). Add it up, it is a tough job and if it was easy anyone could do it!!
  22. The buzzer beater against Daviess Co was something to see. Coach Turley had a big newspaper photo, hanging in his office, from the Lexington Hearld showing the ball in the Hop town players hand and the scoreboard showing 00.00
  23. I had heard a big $$ loss for Henderson Co as well as they paid to have Elder come to town. Any truth to something like 5K to come and play????
  24. Yes he can play whenever the game is set to be played/replayed. No officials get an injury report
