  1. He definitely doesn't deserve first team. He is a good player, but it would be hard for him to make third team in this region, with all of the guard play.
  2. Are they the three that are mentioned in the poll?
  3. Calathes says that he is not leaving Florida, even if Donovan leaves. He was quoted as saying that last night on ESPN, but I can't find the column this morning.
  4. They return their entire starting lineup, to my knowledge. Why wouldn't they be the favorite?
  5. Actually, you are further proving his point. Warren Central outhustling JBS doesn't mean that JBS wasn't is shape. Warren Central knew what it took, and got the win.
  6. Take it easy on the Stepp's. I like that name!!!
  7. Marty Reagan was an outstanding running back. I remember when we played them his senior year. He absolutely killed us. I think they beat us 66-0 that year. We didn't hit him often, but when we did we laid it to him. I remember he had a gash across the bridge of his nose, and blood streaming down his face, but still ran all over us. What happened to him? I heard that he had offers from colleges, but wasn't very well rounded in the classroom.
  8. What are Matt Walls statistics for this season?
  9. Who was the last Kentucky player chosen for the actual game? The last one I remember was Carlos Hurt (I think that was his name). Hurt wasn't originally from Kentucky, though.
  10. I didn't think these were actually chosen to play in the game.
  11. HDE could probably put this one together for Cawood High School. I think baseball is his specialty.
  12. I can see an upset taking place very easily, but I think that South will prevail again. South Laurel: 68 Corbin: 59
  13. What an outstanding showing by Cumberland. Congratulations to the Redskins for a wonderful season. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Corbin pull the upset on their homecourt tomorrow night. Does anyone know the statistics for Desmond Johnson? He has put on a clinic since the first game in the district tounament. I think Cumberland returns four starters next season, including Johnson. They should definitely be the favorite, in my opinion.
  14. Coach Boyd Fox spoke to my team my junior year of high school. I must say that he is an unique character, but a wonderful man to be around, nonetheless. He is an old school guy, and a great mind as well. Here was Fox's ending quote: The average football play lasts for three seconds. Well, h*** boys, I can grab a bear by the *** for three seconds!!!
  15. I think home court advantage is somewhat overinflated. In 2005, Cawood was really the favorite to win the 13th region, and got beat out in the first round. It was held at Cawood.
  16. They used to get a lot of transfers back in the day. I don't know if they came on their on, or were persuaded, though.
  17. I have heard that Jackie Cornett is a master mind when it comes to the offensive side of the ball.
  18. Guess I'll post in this one as well... I was afraid to pick Cumberland over Clay as Old School Dr. pointed out. However, I am absolutely terrified to pick Cumberland over South. Therefore, I say South wins this game by 20+.
  19. I think South's experience coupled with their talent will sepearte the teams in this game. Cumberland is a good team, and should be one of the favorites next season, but South knows how to win the big ones. I say South wins this one 20+.
  20. I hope that Cumberland wins, and I think they can, but for some reason, I can't go against Clay in this one.
  21. Are you implying I should keep my predictions to myself? I'm kidding. I'm anxious to see your predictions. I guess I'll have to wait until mid-August, though.
  22. I'm a tad ignorant about this schedule, but I'm going to make a very, very early prediction. I say Cawood has a legitimate chance of going 6-4 with the losses coming by the way of Breathitt, M'boro, Cumberland, and Somerset. Lee Co. may give them another loss. Also, you can never count Harlan out of this game. Again, this is a surface prediction. I don't know much about these teams, yet.
  23. I would have loved that schedule when I played, especially my first two seasons. When there is no Bell Co. and/or Rockcastle Co. on the schedule, you should feel more confident. I don't like the open week before Powell Co. It would have been good to have it before the Breathitt game, though.
  24. I have always thought Elam has done a good job. To me he always had overacheiving teams. Doesn't he have a really young team? Could that be the reason the JV program isn't much - they all play varsity? I don't a lot about this topic. I just always thought he was a good coach.
  25. When Brandon Stockton won Mr. Basketball, his Glasgow team took an early exit. I think Pettigrew is the best player in the state, and deserves it.
