Desmond Johnson (not Howard, as WEZJ continually announced) had a huge night...with over 20 points and 20 rebounds for the Skins....now Cumberland gets to test their mettle against the Big Bad South Laurel Cards. Cumberland better pack a lunch if they want to advance.

Scorebook had him for 27 and 22 but regardless, what a game for the big guy. He is without a doubt the best big guy in the region. The Skins go as he goes! Great effort by the Redskins tonight. If they feed him the ball constantly Monday night, Trey Smith and St. John are gonna be in some serious foul trouble quick and early.

Skins have to get the ball down the court first. I would expect some heat applied to Leisge and therefore Johnson will be forced to handle the ball more in the backcourt. I hope the Skins win but logic seems to say South wins going away.

Johnson did an excellent job bringing up the ball against Bell County in the district championship. Also, I would love to see Coach Edwards and Coach Akal play Michael Washington (#4)more often. He flat gets after it on defense. I think he could be that lock down defender to step up from the shadows in tourney time like Charles Price did for the Skins back in 2003.

Clay Co's Justin Hobbs to me was the best player in the floor, he ended the game with 27 and 22 of those came in the 2nd half... Johnson is a great player and really pounded Clay Co in the first half..Great Win for Cumberland. Is Johnson a senior?

Johnson is a Junior plus they get the big kid that was sittin on the end of the bench with the white thing on his head eligible next year. He looks to be a hoss and I've heard good things. Corbin, Cumberland, Pineville, and KNox should be the top teams next year but never count out South and Clay.

Year after according to the plans. It could be postponed but from a construction standpoint, they appear to be making some really good progress.

Decent year for the new coach for Clay. Didnt get as far as i thought they would but what do you expect in a region like this. Maybe he will have a better year next year. Of course Cumberland has a good ball club. Good luck to Clay next year and good luck to Cumberland next game.
