Cumberland 52 Clay County 48

Johnson did an excellent job bringing up the ball against Bell County in the district championship. Also, I would love to see Coach Edwards and Coach Akal play Michael Washington (#4)more often. He flat gets after it on defense. I think he could be that lock down defender to step up from the shadows in tourney time like Charles Price did for the Skins back in 2003.

I disagree with this #4 looked like a good athlete but lost on the basketball court.#33,#3 and #42(Johnson), were good players for C'land.

Decent year for the new coach for Clay. Didnt get as far as i thought they would but what do you expect in a region like this. Maybe he will have a better year next year. Of course Cumberland has a good ball club. Good luck to Clay next year and good luck to Cumberland next game.

IMO a great year for the new coach, this may have been the weakest team Clay has had for many, many years and still won 20 game. I really don't see how they done it.

I have a question for the Clay Co fans. When will they return to their glory of dominating their region and owning that Sweet 16 spot in March? Back in the late 80's when I was in high school, it seemed like every year they just dominated. Was it Bobby Kieth? The players? What do they have coming up in the younger ranks down there?

A very good year for Cumberland, a great year if they could upset South Laurel.

Congrats to Coach Spurlock on good year with very young team. Coach Spurlock will have the tigers back to old form before you know it.

Watched Cumberland play Hazard in the All "a" , the Big kid from Cumberland is a beast, also have some pretty good gaurds.

IMO a great year for the new coach, . I really don't see how they done it.

Don't see it as a great year for the coach. I see it as a great year for the players. They played hard and got some wins they probably shouldn't of got. When you get to the end of the season and tournament time, that is where the coach supposed to take over and get you the big wins by using his expertise in his field and planning and preparing his team for the next game! I didn't see this at Clay this year. The players can only take you so far, he was out coached the last few games. Great season guys, keep up the good work and keep playing hard, it will pay off!

I didn't see anything wrong with Clay's game plan, the coach cant hit shots, block out on rebounds, play D. #10 for Clay is a nice player. Clay plays really hard but lack alot of talent right now. IMO to get 20 wins was great, no disrespect meant to the players.

Keith, the great intimidator!!!! They, nor anyone, will dominate like Clay used to. As in college baskeball, other schools have stepped it up and there is more parity in the region as a whole.

They used to get a lot of transfers back in the day. I don't know if they came on their on, or were persuaded, though. ;)
