Southwestern has a 6 game opennng stretch of Rockcastle @ Danville, Somerset @ Somerset, George Rogers Clark, South Laruel @ South Laruel, Highlands @ Ft. Thomas, and then last but not least the opening of district play Boyle Co. @ of all places Boyle Co. Got to love this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UKbellco14, what a post and dead on!! It's dang near imposible but you can get them if you keep your grades and attitude in order. In todays time with it costing colleges scholarships for kids not finishing school it's going to get tougher if the grades aren't up to par!!!

What touching story and I'm a firm believer that GOD does what over all of us. Graybeard, I also had a son involved in an auto accident by himself and it was a roll over accident my only words for him when I saw his smiling face for the first time afterwards was "son, someone besides your mom and dad was watching over you this time" He gets to wear a scar on his shoulder as a reminder of how close death was. Let's all continue to pray for our youth and as always GOD please continue to watch over mine.........With loving prayers going out to all three of these kids..................LTW.

And my admiration as well!! It's very tough to get division 1 scholarships because there are so many kids trying to get them and I can tell you from experence how hard it is and how much has to go into getting them. I'm very proud of all of our Kentucky players that are going on to play college football.

And I can to! I'm sure he's got a lot of things to deal with. I met him in Frankfort at the SL game breifly seems like a great kid, but you can't deny his off the court troubles. I'm sure being in 3 different high schools in four years isn't good. Being in every AAU b-ball thing going is rough. If he had wanted to not move or transfer he could have prevented this. I know people are telling him how much he'll be worth in a couple of years but that isn't now. He'll grow up and things will be different someday it's just not what they think it's going to be when they get there sometimes I'm crossing my fingers for him and I hope he does well. Good Luck OJ. Now the other side of things is how many special things have been done for him, is it fair to other kids that 2 of the top kids in the nation are on the same team? How good would and above average high school kid be with either Walker or Mayo? How much pub. would another kid get if he was with that traveling circus? The playing field should be as close to normal and level as it can be but because of him and others like him it's all out of wack! Can you make stars out of players? If you put them with good players and travel and pub your games and get into classes you can win SURE. From what I've seen myself BOTH these kids would be above average players on a team by themself, now with Ellis rebouding and just throwing it pass mid-court and it's a wide open dunk fest at the other end makes both them look GREAT. SL got them into a half court offense and they were just average. OJ can create shots but has trouble if the person guarding him is as quick. JMHO...............LTW.

If I had that ticket I wouldn't be whining about what I had to go through to get it. If your life is messed up then change it, if your unwilling to do that then go on with what your doing don't complain about how someone else is not letting you live it!!!

^ If OJ wants control of his life tell him to stop playing basketball and all things return to normal. If he sole wants to be in control of his life and destiny tell him to just walk away and all those controling him will disappear unless it's parents of corse. They to will fall in line after he quits. OJ likes all this attention and all that goes along with it because if he didn't he would have left the game long before now. He see nothing but $$$$$$ ahead and sometimes can't control himself.

RockMom, I didn't know that about your son but I to do agree that you really have to let them decide. Kids get hurt all the time doing nothing physical. You can be riding a bike, skating boarding, four wheeling, or just walking along a busy street and someone lose control of their car. I always said that if my kid gets hurt and quits thats fine but if he wanted to return that was OK too. People just simply refuse to allow their kids to play football, my responce is if my son got hurt doing something he loved doing I would struggle with it but not near as much as if he got hurt in some freak accident and I wouldn't allow him do something he truly love doing, and now couldn't...............LTW.

Cumberland got a great ball player and good kid. We wish him nothing but great things as he goes on to play college ball. Congrats and we're all proud of you at Southwestern...............LTW.

Last season Southwestern had two players on this this list and they both signed to play D-1 football. What makes you think that Coach Anderson won't help these kids this year and make it happen again. Just wondering?

Congrat's to both players and all who are going to continue on to the next level to play football. I've seen these kids play for years because Southern middle school and Southwestern have played Rockcastle for as long as my son has played ball. We missed playing them last season but I watched them play at Danville while we were there. It was a fun 5 years. Again congrats and I'm positive they'll do well at Union.....................LTW.

My favorite play of all time is the "naked bootleg". If the QB really, really, sells it to the defense that he has handed the ball off to the RB and continues to watch him the whole time until he gets around the end, it's the greatest play. Years ago we use to direct snap to the RB between the QB's legs and the QB would act as if he had fumbled the snap, another good one!

Congrats to Walt Allen on winning Mr. Basketball. Went to Frankfort to watch SL play NCH and man was it a game. I really went to see you know who but got to see Walt and company put fear into their eyes. If they (NCH) hadn't played stall ball the last two minutes of the game SL would have had a real chance of beating one of america's top teams.

Duane Fields of Madison Central will be in the mix of MR. Basketball next year!

Shot clocks will be the next best thing in Kentucky High School Basketball. I want to see you beat me by putting it in the hoop not running it around out front and not even attempting to make a basket. It went out of college years ago why it's still in high school is beyond me.

Great game for the Indians, I was there and sit with the fans. I talked to several people that were there and in truth they brought around 15 buses. It looked like a convoy going up I-75. What really ticked me about this was one of the player father tried to get lower arena tickets as soon they were in and was told he couldn't get them because they were already sold. I'm asking who to? Anyways Madison Central brought a bunch and a bunch others showed up I thought it was very bad to make them sit way upper arena when so many sets were open lower. It looked like they brought the whole town. Good luck MC I'll be there tomorrow night. See ya!

15-time, plus the fact that a good player from T or X on any given night may if he's lucky be on the field for 20-25 snaps of the ball. A good player from other teams are on the feild for every snap (45-50)........................Not Rocket Science!!!!
