I am looking for a football score in 1972 and the opponent was Georgetown, that was all that was listed. I assume it was Georgetown High School, which I also assume is now defunct. Would this be the same Georgetown, in Scott County before a consolidation, maybe? I needed to know so that I could contact someone at a library for microfilm research, however, I wanted to make sure this would be the correct area.

Could have been Georgetown, Ohio ... a few miles up the road from Maysville. The Scott County school system's website says that Georgetown and Scott County consolidated in the 70s.

I remember a story about Georgetown High School when the Courier-Journal did team previews/stories each week in the 1970s. Georgetown High School was probably still a school in 1972.

Georgetown High School was in the building that is currently Garth Elementary school in Scott Co.

What were Georgetown's nickname and school colors?

They were call the Buffalos and their colors were Green and White. I went to Gtown during the 60's.

That was also the first year of football for Rockcastle. They didn't do to bad, they had 3-6 record and won their first game ever. They were within a combined 6 points to win another 2 games as well.
