This is confirmed-- Walt Allen won the award--very deserving IMO.

If this is true, congratulations for a fine young man on this honor! Of the 3 frontrunners I mentioned, I have seen Walt many more times, so my opinion is a little biased. But IMHO, he deserves it!!! With players like Slaughter and Crutcher on the ballott, I would be that the voting was very close. :thumb:

Congrats to Walt, not many better kids out there. Anyone want to bet that next year's Mr. Basketball also comes from South Laurel?

It was announced in Frankfort this morning.

That would be surprising if it happened.

They have one of the frontrunners in PG Ty Proffitt. But I agree that it would be unusual.

Is that a bet?

Walt is a very deserving recepiate. He daily demonstrates the character that a Mr. Basketball should have. One of the hardest working players, I have ever watched.

Congrats to Walt. He is a very deserving young man who is an excellent representative of this award. I will miss seeing him play the game for the Cardinals!

Ill take that bet. No way he will win it. Nice player but there are 3 or 4 that are better.

Walt Allen named Mr. Basketball

Ill take that bet. No way he will win it. Nice player but there are 3 or 4 that are better.

Who's the three or four SENIORS next year better than Ty Proffit?

You werent one of the many who said the same thing about Walt Allen are ya?

:sssh:

JK..... I didnt mean this as any kind of attack. Just playing around and poking at all the Allen doubters. They dont seem to be posting as much since Allen has taken home 2 POY awards and a Mr. Basketball title.

Ill take that bet. No way he will win it. Nice player but there are 3 or 4 that are better.

I'd like to hear those names.

Proffitt will definitely be in the mix for Mr. Basketball next year, and I would go as far as saying he is a favorite going into next year. He's D1 talent, and there isnt much of that in the state now.

Congrats to Walt Allen a very classy young man.:thumb:
