It was announced in Frankfort this morning.

Also had an unbelievable ceremony at his school. Half the town was in the Gym ( OK a bunch) including their State Senator, Major and the whole school board. The place was electric. Pretty classy 18 yr old. Good representative.

Lead us to a sweep of the Hoosiers.

Who's the three or four SENIORS next year better than Ty Proffit?

Jordan Hammonds is one of the 3 seniors but will he be at SL or somewhere else??? I've heard a school or two mentioned of him leaving SL for but don't know how much weight it carries.

Steffphon Pettigrew from Elizabethtown, Duran Jefferson of Holmes, Rodney Haddix of Scott Co., and Thomas Coleman of J-town quickly come to mind.

Congrats to Walt Allen on winning Mr. Basketball. Went to Frankfort to watch SL play NCH and man was it a game. I really went to see you know who but got to see Walt and company put fear into their eyes. If they (NCH) hadn't played stall ball the last two minutes of the game SL would have had a real chance of beating one of america's top teams.

They are among the elite players projected next season, probably all top 10 no doubt, but I am not sure that they are better than Proffitt.

Honestly, just rumors. Jordan and Ty have played together since they were knee high to a grasshopper. Without Walt, Jordan will have to take on even more responsibility for scoring and should be excited about next season. Jordan transferring has been mentioned each offseason for the past few years but it never happens. If he was going to do it, now would not be the time.

I would consider Haddix of Scott a front runner right beside Proffit but the rest of those I don't think will contend at all.Pettigrew is a good player but if you stop him(like South did in the tourney in 2005)you stop that whole team, and with Proffit and Haddix if you concentrate only on them they have plenty of fire power around them to keep that from happening.IMO.But that means nothing this year so congrats to Walt Allen.:ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Jordan isn't going anywhere. Just wishful thinking from a school and its followers.

Add Matt Walls to the list as well. And the kid from Warren Central as well. I thought Pettigrew was the best player I saw last year. However it was only for one game.

I would like to say congratulations to Walt Allen. There is not a more deserving player for this award. While there may have been more athletic players in this state, none meant more than Mr. Allen. Walt did nothing but deal with all of the hype with the utmost class and treat everyone with 100% respect. He is a rare human being because you very seldom see someone that is so well known still make time to have what is truly important kept in perspective. Not only is Presbyterian getting a fine ball player, they are getting a good all around christian All-American guy. Congrats Walt! It's been an honor watching you these past years.
