Much closer than I anticpated...

I use to enjoy reading Coach Jackson's posts and comments when he was the head coach at Pikeville. For someone that no longer lives in the area, it gave me an extra resource to keep up with my alma mater.

I would like to see it moved to Lexington. However, like others have said, it won't happen until UK goes with the field turf and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I would love to see it moved to BG...

I knew Cardinal Mooney would win but sure didn't expect to see a 57-0 score.

Did Mister Cobble play? If not...when do they expect him back? Hopefully Central bounces back strong...They have a lot of talent and will once again go a long way in the playoffs.

Coach Howell is a good coach imo...He will get Dunbar back on track. Good win for Station. They now have top-notch facilities and there is always good talent walking the halls of BSHS. Hopefully they get some stability in the program and start winning on a regular basis.

The Pike County Bowl is a joke now... I wish Pikeville would start their own bowl game, so fans can watch two exciting games of football the way it used to be...I root for all Pike County teams but I don't watch to a Shelby Valley-East Ridge battle again...that was tough to watch. "The Brent Coleman Memorial Bowl" would be a appropriate name for a new bowl game at Pikeville High School. Pikeville could bring in 3 teams from out of the area to give fans of the region a opportunity to watch some new teams. Pikeville could pick their own opponent, instead of having the bowl committee pick the opponents. The matchups would be more even, and the games more exciting Just my opinion...

This is a very big commitment for the Cats...Greene is considered by many to be the #2 college prospect in the state this year behind the LB from Trinity. Larry Waford, Jerell Greene, and LaRod King is a great start to the 09 class.

:thumb: I agree...The Expo Center is state of the art and the Pikeville/Big Sandy area schools are fortunate to have the facility to host their regional tournament.

I was really hoping to watch Mack and the Defenders in Rupp...Oh well....Congrats Catholic.

How has the attendance been at the Expo Center for the tourney this year?? As far as the games...SV over JC in the finals is my prediction. Good luck to all teams...

The 15th Region Tourney will be held at the Expo Center in Pikeville...It should be held there every year.

Sorry you didn't like Chiricos...It was either that or Pikeville's other fine Italtian establishments...GattiTown and Pizza Hut.:lol: I didn't know the new Hampton Inn downtown was open...it looks very nice. Glad you enjoyed the Expo..The Pikeville area is lucky to have such a nice venue.

The Cincinnati-based school was a late addition to this year’s field and will bring two of the nation’s top high school prospects to Eastern Kentucky to battle 2006 Kentucky state champion — and pre-season No. 1 — Scott County in the classic finale on Saturday, Dec. 15. Yancy Gates and Anthony McBride are two of the nation’s most explosive players. Gates is committed to the University of Cincinnati, while McBride is being looked at strongly by the University of Kentucky. Scott County is led by Bud Mackey, who looks to test his skills and propel his bid to become Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball with a victory over Withrow. The Kent Thacker Agency continues its tradition of bringing top quality basketball entertainment to the region. Three games are on tap for Friday night (Dec. 14) as Pike County Central battles Jenkins at 6 p.m. Pikeville High’s girls face Boyd County at 7:30 p.m., and Pikeville’s boys face Belfry at 9 p.m. The first session Saturday will begin at 10 a.m. when Cumberland faces Johnson Central in a battle of athletic teams. Legendary coach Charlie Morgan leads the all-time winningest program in the nation to their first appearance at the Expo. The evening session will pit Mason County against Christ Presbyterian Academy at 5:15 p.m. Mason County brings one of the most sought after Division I players in Darius Miller into the classic. Miller has committed to the University of Kentucky. Christ Presbyterian also features Division I prospect Zaccheus Mason. Chirico's is outstanding...it is downtown in the Pinson Hotel Building...as others have said, a very short walk to and from the Expo Center.
