Rules for Eligibility
KHSAA rule is to pass 75% of your classes each week. If you are not doing that you must not play until you are passing 75%of your classes. To play as a freshman you must pass the 8 th grade. To play as a soph you must past 75% of your classes, etc. I agree. I know it is minimum, but look folks, we are talking about kids growing up and trying to be somebody. Why destroy that in an early age?

A member of the media speaks out on the flawed AP All State Team!
How can a team that makes it to the semi finals not even have a player not make honorable mention? Something is wrong with the AP vote.

Rules for Eligibility
I agree. Why Punish the athlete? Most football players and other athletes will not move on to the next level. Go with the KHSAA rules.

Rules for Eligibility
There is a lot to consider on this subject, but let me ask one question. What per cent of high school players across the state will receive college athletic scholarships? My answer to this would be very low percentage. Most kids learn a lot about life in general while playing high school sports and a lot of them would not make it through high school if they were not allowed to play. Why punish that few that fall into that group. Most kids that go onto college are the good students from families that push them and expect them to attend. We have a lot of student athletes that never will and never plan to attend college. There is such a thing as vocational studies for them. I just don't think by requiring the players to have a C average is going to make them a college bound student, because most of them will not get the C average to begin with and at the same time will never learn the real meaning of what it is like to be on a team and possibly be helped in other facets of life.

Father sons coaching together
Coach Larkey at Rockcastle Co has two sons that played for him at ROCK and now has Chris that has coached for 16 years with his dad and another son Dackery that has played for him and has coached for 4 years. Pretty incredible. Don't think that can be beat by anyone else.

Rockcastle County 21 Bell County 0
SouthEastBell - That post was very laughable. You give absoultely NO CREDIT to a young Rock team that came out and dominated Bell County, instead you just said they played awful. News Flash, Rock had a little something to do with that. Bell County had already had the game won at least from the fans perspective. Everyone had Log Mountain all built up to be some sort of shrine that no one can win at. Not only did Rock win there they shut Bell County out. All week people were mentioning matchups, "ole' Bell County played Knoxville Central tough, no way anyone from around here beats them." Just to let you know about Rock, not too mention the other teams in the district or tri-county area but Rock had an undefeated freshmen team that outscored their opponents 310-26. The junior class was also undefeated. The 8th grade team has possibly the best QB and RB to ever grace the sidelines at Rockcastle. Only time will tell, but to say that no one will beat them in the next 6-7 years is so funny. I thought you would be more knowledgable than that. Sports4Life - Clay County does have a great coming up and some fine young men in high school already. Just remember I'm not sure about Bell County but Rock hasn't been any lower than a 2 seed since 1991. 15 straight years of being a 2 seed or better. That will be a huge flip flop from 1 or 2 to 3 or 4.

Rockcastle County at Lexington Catholic predictions
Marty still lives in Rockcastle County, not certain where he is employed though. He helps out with the Little League Program some too I believe. I want to say he is a coach for one of the local teams.

Rockcastle County 21 Bell County 0
Maybe Bellallumni or Log Mountain Boy can answer this question. When was the last time Bell was shut out at home and have they ever been shut out in the playoffs?

A brand new 3A championship game....
No, they are 1A, plus they weren't in it last year so this doesn't even pertain to them. Secondly back to the thread title about 3A. Two favorites at the beginning of the year. Lexington Catholic and Bowiling Green or Two Cinderellas playing each other? Rockcastle County and Bullitt East

Rockcastle County 21 Bell County 0
Rock starts 4-5 seniors, they are very young. They have their whole "DOMINANT" line back next year as 3 years starters.

Rockcastle County at Bell County
I must have missed something. I didn't see anything mentioned about teams from TN. This thread has been nothing but good from both sides.

Best running backs in EKY last 20 years!

Rockcastle County 32 Ashland 14
The Tomcats had a great season and had nothing to hang their heads after the defeat to the ROCK. ROCK was clicking on all cylinders on Fri. If they can play this good against Bell Co. then I will pick them to win. I thought the ROCK QB was the best high school QB I have seen all year. His receivers did a great job running patterns and catching the ball. Their TB was not a big guy but followed his blocks well. The ROCK line was superb. I understand that only one was a senior. The big tackle #74 is a junior and should be getting some offers.
