  1. Game was close throughout. Raceland led at the half. Tolliver and the Rams were flat. I expected to see more from Tolliver in the contest after what I had been reading on here. Coach Johnson pulled his first 5 3 minutes into the contest, I guess because they came out so flat. Allen Central wasn't impressive by any means. Yet they were able to hang on for the win, even after Raceland made a push late. Game was called in favor of Allen Central, Raceland came out flat which allowed the officiating to affect them I suppose. But after last year's visit to Raceland, I guess things are even now.
  2. David School - Paul Mullins, Joe Tiller, Nate Robinson, Blake Stumbo.
  3. David School-- Blake Stumbo
  4. The loss to South Floyd was a game played at Allen Central, so believe me, the ride could've been much longer. Especially when we play the winner of Region 7...Either Eastern, Jeffersontown, Male, St. X.
  5. Paintsville has a chance to bounce back by tournament time, but an opening round loss in their district tournament will only solidify their "sophomore slump." Congrats East Ridge on the win, a team that is bouncing back from some questionable losses as well. Just continues to show the parity in the region. Wouldnt be at all surprised to see a team with a sub .500 record represent the region in the Sweet 16.
  6. You want proof? Call Allen Central's Tournament Director and ask him if their janitors picked up the pieces. Plain and simple. There's obviously something going on. Williams quits the team, probably to save himself from injury I suppose for his college football career from what I hear. But still, why drop your team at this point?
  7. You cared enough to respond to my comments.
  8. And in response to you: Folks spent money for those trophies to give to Paintsville or whichever team would finish second in that tournament. As for folks cleaning up after them, it's something that could've been avoided and no one could have done a better job at hosting that tournament than the staff at Allen Central. Wonder what BMR thinks about it? Does he think it was "their right" to throw their hardware away? Surely ol' Bill Mike would have more class than that to willingly let his team act like that?
  9. Mayfield dominated the glass in the second half plain and simple. They shot over 50% for the half because the majority of their shots were 5 feet and in. Atheltic and quick. Congrats to Mayfield on the win. I was a little surprised that the experience South Floyd has didn't come into play when they got down on a 9-0 run to start the half. But, oh well. The season isn't over and the real prize is weeks away - a regional championship.
  10. Well...some people in Floyd County had to take "time" to cleanup trophies that Paintsville threw away after they lost in the finals to South Floyd. Hope that doesn't affect their confidence.
  11. I think I said Allen Central by 3 in the prediction thread...Dang it!
  12. Allen Central by 3... Who has East Ridge played this season and beaten?
  13. I bet it would be a good one for Mayfield Cardinal fans to listen to.
  14. No. South Floyd also won this tournament last season defeating Pikeville. The Raiders have now won the 15th All "A" 3 times in school history, twice over Paintsville. The Tigers knocked off South Floyd once in the title game some years back. Congrats to South Floyd and their coaching staff. They have endured more than their fair share of adversity this season and their players are rising to the challenge of overcoming their probation. Good luck Raiders in Richmond. :dancingpa :dancingpa
  15. What's the extent of Lowe's injury?
  16. The roads to & from JBS aren't the only things crooked in Knott County.
  17. Awesome win Allen Central! :dancingpa Kids stormed the court after the game, you would've thought they had won the entire tournament. Yet, when you play so hard and come up short all year, it feels good to finally get that one "big" win. Nice game for Ryan Collins. Alex Hammonds and Nick Music were steady hands in the contest. Tyler Slone an awesome job on the boards. Sheldon Clark centered their defense on AC Center Josh Martin, the others stepped up, the Rebels forced Sheldon Clark to shoot from the outside (6-22) with a 1-2-2 matchup. Same defense was effective against Shelby Valley implied by Phelps Wednesday night. Good luck Rebels, Paintsville is going to overlook you tonight, sneakup and bite'em! :fight:
  18. Surely the sky isn't falling yet. I thought everyone loved coach Booher.
  19. Awesome win for Phelps...great defensive effort clogging up the inside with their zone forcing SV to shoot from the outside... Did SV have a timeout at the end of the game in OT? If so, why didn't coach Booher use it? SV didn't get a shot off as it looked like nobody wanted to take it in the end. Gannon is the best player you've never heard of in the 15th Region. Charlie Hunt was out, Phelps played a two-man game with Gannon outside and Mikey Dotson inside.
  20. Awesome Owls...Good job. Guess it's hard to win away from Pippa Passes isn't it JBS?
  21. 15th Region is wide open and so fun to keep up with isn't it guys. Great win for Prestonsburg, they've won 5 straight games and starting to make noise as a contender, not a pretender. Prestonsburg: Barnett 22 Hughes 14 Leslie 13 McGuire 6 Hall 3 Herrick 1 Johnson Central: McCarty 19 Fannin 12 Rice 6 Johnson 3 Whitaker, Blanton, Meek - 1 apiece!
  22. No...Phelps/SV game is a quarterfinal contest. The winner faces either South Floyd or Pikeville in the Semifinals Friday night.
  23. WOW...Congrats to Owsley County! South Floyd looked as if they could beat anyone Friday night at East Ridge, especially with their defense and inside game. Great job Owsley and hopefully this will fuel your season in the right direction.
