JBS 58 Allen Central 45
You sir don't seem to read post on BGP in detail. If you look above in Post #3 you will see that I made no excuse for Allen Central's lack of intensity last night. Also, I never said, "had to get the refs on their side to win this one," Get your facts straight before you dish out nonsense. Yes, AC has been beaten more times than not this season, yet last night was the worst, one-sided officiated game I've watched this season. And facts are facts Jack, ALC alumni are officiating JBS basketball games and you or nobody else can make an excuse as to why this is fair for any opponent. Just "MY" Opinion. :fire:

JBS 58 Allen Central 45
   If you think the Stepp Brothers have no "choice on who refs their games" you are fooling yourself. Having former players officiating your games is very disrespectful to your opponent. As for JBS having a top team in the 14th. They can get hot and will challenge for the All "A" Regional Championship, however, the Crusaders will have the best record of any team in the state that doesn't make it out of the first round of their own district tournament. Write it down.

JBS 58 Allen Central 45
One of the worst "one-sided" officiated contest this season. JBS committed 6 fouls for the entire contest before picking up a final foul with under a minute to play to finish with 7. Allen Central committed 17 fouls with 11 or 12 of those called in the second half. Absolutely amazing that this was allowed to happen. Also, I personally think that it's in bad taste to see alumni of Alice Lloyd College "officiating" the contest for their former College coaches the Stepps, who are in charge on the sidelines for JBS. I would expect more class than that from an institiution such as the college and private school. You know who you are. Best of luck to JBS in the future, you will need it when you are not playing at home or when you're forced to play a contest without hometown alumni officiating the game. Allen Central - the officiating was a factor in your loss, yet you need to bring more intensity to the basketball. Total lack of aggressiveness on the part of the Rebels tonight. Good luck Coach Martin in the future, the season is far from over, and hopefully better games are on the horizon.

June Buchanan School...Alice Lloyd College...The Crusader Classic. Great game. Elliott County was 8-27 from 3-point range last night according to the radio!

Does anyone in the mountains play defense?
Hazard has had success playing defense in the past...However, coach Kevin Spurlock has some serious work to do this season with his ballclub. Anyone who has watched Hazard play over the past couple of seasons would have to agree that they could play defense. This season, at least by looking at their record, has been a little different.

Paintsville 71 Apollo 64
Unselfish play...along with BMR putting the fear of God in 15th Region officials...keys to a successful season! :sssh:

Paintsville 71 Apollo 64
That's the key to their success this season.

Does anyone in the mountains play defense?
Betsy Layne has showed signs of defense at times this season. Before last week's tournament action in Berea, the Bobcats had to come from behind in 3 consecutive ballgames (10+ deficit each contest I believe) to win. They did it with deflections and a nice 1-2-2 zone. They also have the size inside to block shots.

Paintsville 71 Apollo 64
I bet. No way Paintsville beats Apollo or Seneca anywhere else except Paintsville.

South Floyd 58 Carroll County 53
Will there be an "all tournament" team from the Hoops Classic? If so, Ryan Johnson of South Floyd and Josh Martin of Allen Central should be included along with others.

South Floyd 58 Carroll County 53
Oh well, still a good showing for the Raiders going 2-1 in the Classic. :thumb: Should be a dandy Friday night vs. Brent Rose and his Bobcats!

Good win for SF! Do they continue to play in the tournament today and Saturday?

Appalachian Wireless Mountain Schoolboy Classic
I may take you up on that! :thumb: I wasn't trying to knock Belfry or the tournament. However, am I the only person on the planet that thinks there are too many "holiday tournaments" in High School Basketball and too many "bowl games" on TV? Doesn't it lose it's meaning when there are so many?

Clear Lake,TX 88 - Allen Central 55 (Hoops Classic)
I heard that Clear Lake's 2nd 5 off the bench were better than the starters. Good luck to the Rebels as they continue to get that breakthrough win against somebody this season.

Appalachian Wireless Mountain Schoolboy Classic
 Too many holiday tournaments anymore...holiday tournaments and classics are watered down. The Paintsville Tournament is the best holiday tournament as of right now and the WYMT (though a poor field this year) is generally entertaining basketball to watch.

Betsy Layne 63 Prestonsburg 59
Funny thing was...Prestonsburg hadn't shot a free throw in the second half until midway through the 4th quarter. Great win for Brent Rose and Betsy Layne. :thumb:

Best Big in the 15th?
Brandon Kidd of Betsy Layne... And folks better learn these names: Lewis Barnett of Prestonsburg and Josh Martin of Allen Central...Both 6'3" or 6'4" and beginning to make a name for themselves to their opponents.

JBS 77 Prestonsburg 75
Sounds like Prestonsburg is coming back down to earth after losing two close games and surviving Allen Central this week.

Top 5 Left Handed 2 Guards Under 6' In A 20 Mile Radius Of Your House???
I feel the same way. Hilarious.  I'm sorry it gets ridiculous sometimes here. And most of the time it's something to do with my beloved 15th Region.
