Best big man in your opinions?

There are no big men, they are all "short" big men!!

I think Rice from J.C.H.S. He can really crash the boards and when he gets in the paint it is a automatic bucket!

Kevin Williams is a defensive presence for Paintsville, he'll use is 5 fouls for sure.

Kyle Rice IMO is the best in the 15th.

I like Kyle Rice and the kid from Lawrence County. I have always thought Rice to be an good post player for the 15th region.

 

However, I think Thompson (sp) from Lawrence is probably the best post player. He has solid inside moves, crashes the boards with a vengeance, and shoots the outside jumper fairly well. Another thing he does well is his ability to take a post player out on the perimeter and beat him off the dribble.

What kind of numbers has he put so far? How is Betsy Layne doing this year?

I'm not positive i'm assuming around 23ppg and about 11rpg....I know they played 4 games and one of those games he had 32 points so he's up there stat wise. He's a good/experienced leader on that team. I don't follow Betsy Layne a whole lot but I believe they ar 1-3 thus far this season.

Shelby Valleys got Mitchell Riddle, Cade Riddle, and John Johnson they are huge contributors.

After the game @ Paintsville, Wes Helton for Magoffin has to be considered at top center in the 15th. I know the post is a weak spot for Paintsville. But how many centers are going to score 29 points, get 12 rebounds, 4 or 5 assists, and a few steals against the Tigers?

 

If Helton keeps this up, he'll get some looks at the next level.

And folks better learn these names: Lewis Barnett of Prestonsburg and Josh Martin of Allen Central...Both 6'3" or 6'4" and beginning to make a name for themselves to their opponents.

Wes Helton had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in a loss to Henry Clay yesterday. That's nearly a triple double against a top 5 team in the state!

 

I don't know his stats in their win over Rockcastle County today. But I heard he made four key free throws to help seal the victory. I'll post again when I find out his stats against Rockcastle Co.

 

I can't argue with anyone that says Kidd from Betsy Layne is one of the best big men in the 15th. And I haven't seen some of the others that have been mentioned. But Wes Helton is truly coming on in his senior season for Magoffin County. He has to be considered one of the best in the region!

I would have to say Kidd and Thompson have the most talent as far as Big Men go in the 15th. But Thompson seems to have always played every position on the floor. Hard for me to consider him just as a Center.

Im also throwing Kidd in there based only on what I have heard/read about him. Have yet to see him play this year, but it is on my list of things to do.
