:sleep: Too many holiday tournaments anymore...holiday tournaments and classics are watered down.

 

The Paintsville Tournament is the best holiday tournament as of right now and the WYMT (though a poor field this year) is generally entertaining basketball to watch.

East Ridge beat Jenkins in OT and Sheldon Clark won by 12.

Jenkins blew there game vs/ East Ridge! Up 6 with like 30 secondds to go and East Ridge heaves a 3 as time expires to send this one into O.T....Sheldon Clark beat Bourbon??????????????????? Shocked if this is true!

Jenkins is not a bad team and I am not surprised they played ER to the wire. Sheldon Clark is a very good team so don't be shocked!! Parity rules the 14th and 15th right now!!

First game I've watched my boys from SC play in about a week. They are really coming along. Watch out for em tho. Hammonds got them playing very well IMO.

Paintsville & WYMT may be the best tournaments .... The Farm Bureau Warrior Classic is not water down ... With June Buchanan , Prestonsburg , Madison Central , South Floyd ,Lawrence County ,Letcher Central ,Pendleton County , St. Louis Vashon ...

SV beat Mercer by double digits just seen the 2nd half of that game. And Belfry beat Herritage by 20 some. They had a 30 point lead before putting subs in.

What did everyone there think about the gym? I thought it was a nice place to watch a game.

How did East Ridge close the gap and score 6 in the last 30 sec?? Who made the buzzer beater?

Jenkins missed freethrows to put the game out of reach with like 20 seconds left...Great win for ER....but Jenkins outplayed them for most of the second half..Bourbon and Mercer were obviously tired from travelling and playing on the same day...not to take anything from SC and SV....was very impressed with SC's intensity level....and Mercer never really was in the game with Valley....both teams(Bourbon and Mercer) were very much outworked on both ends...good wins for the much underestimated "mountain teams"...Belfry got great guard play from Maynard and Case ...as well as Dustin May...and they cruised...good matchups tomorrow..

Of course...it's not the Paintsville Tourney...which is obviously the best tourney in the country.. can't believe anyone else would even have one at the same time!!

Stark...come on over to Belfry tomorrow...you might find some good basketball over this way...we will even buy you a hotdog and some nachos....of course they won't taste as good as the ones at Paintsville...or the WYMT for that matter.

I wasn't trying to knock Belfry or the tournament. However, am I the only person on the planet that thinks there are too many "holiday tournaments" in High School Basketball and too many "bowl games" on TV? Doesn't it lose it's meaning when there are so many?
