Belfry is missing approximately 20-22 players in all. Including 7 of their top ten players and their best player. They had two varsity returning starters vs. Henry and also started two freshmen. Was a 6 point game at halftime and was an 11 point game with 2 minutes to play.

The second freethrow can be shot no matter what...saw this happen THIS year in a girl's game...and it affected the outcome of the game!!! The ball had been in play for two possessions and then the mistake was found and the team shot the freethrow...

PRP...is there something to gain from your post??? Other than to show your your complete lack of class and intelligence?? The people of the 15th region love basketball...and they get excited come tourney time...and they look forward to seeing who will win this region...and I personally look forward to seeing the very talented PRP underachieve when they do make the Sweet 16.. -

Impressive...but incorrect....Belfry is in from the 60th...Pike Central and Phelps play tomorrow night to determine the other spot from the 60th...with the finals to be played on saturday.. -
You are right RNC..too much crap away from the ball...also....I have seen MANY shooters get hit while in the act of shooting with no call...this is a pet peeve of mine...if a players is fouled in the act..then it MUST be called...no matter what the score...the situation...the location on the floor..etc..

I think Pikeville is better than AC and Betsy Layne....and they just beat Phelps too... -
Belfry goes to 15-5 on the season. Belfry sweeps the season series with one their most heated rivals.

JC was a basket away from TYING the game against Belfry...NOT winning it..I witnessed first hand some problems that Coach Trimble had with his players...kicking chairs when they came out of the game...pouting on the bench and not rooting for teammates...from the outside looking in I think the PLAYERS were the problem....I don't think Pitino could have made some of those kids or their parents happy! -
15th Region Site Questions?
Press replied to sports scoop's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The 15th Region tourney IS going to be at the Expo Center, however, the 57th District will serve as the host district instead of just one school as the host. -

Which games do you consider "easy"?? Looks to me like JC has a very challenging schedule left. -
Game wasn't as close as final score indicated....Belfry was up 17-19 most of the second half...

Another thing thay happens with mountain kids that scare college coaches away is the fact that they have a reputation for not staying... examples would be Todd May, Jody Thompson, Tony Pietrowski, and Shannon Hoskins.

I agree with everything you said dubbledribble...except the part about the clevenger kid...he will be a D-3, NAIA player AT BEST. Gilbert from Wolfe IS being recruited by Centre College. He has no shot to play D-1. He is an OUTSTANDING high school player. But not athletic enough to play on that level. At 6'4" he needs to be able to stick his face in the rim or be able to knock it down from 30 feet. I think he is the classic"tweener". Brad Lowe is the best in the 15th...and Maynard is the most talented IMO. Several colleges have inquired about Maynard. The question with him I hear might possibly be academics. Is he good enough to play D-1 basketball? He has D-1 talent...but probably not D-1 work ethic. He is the most naturally talented basketball player at Belfry since Stevin Staton in the early 90's . He played at D-1 Longwood ...and then at NAIA powehouse College of WV...where he was an All- American and averaged around 28 ppg for two seasons.

Top team in the region?? Hmmm..possibly...however...it IS quite refreshing to read that someone other than Paintsville or Johnson Central is possibly the top team....seems like some people think the only good teams in the region come from the 57th.. I think there are a few teams outside that district who also can play...and also could win the region. -

How can it not make a difference?? You take 30 points out of the lineup of ANY team and it is going to hurt tremendously.. -

Brad Lowe was hurt in the opening minutes?? -
Case 27 Maynard 23 May 14 Bowman 11 Belfry led by 8 at half....pushed it out to 20 early in second half and that's where it stayed the rest of the game. Biggest home crowd of the year for Belfry...GREAT atmosphere for besketball!!!
