Jaryd Crum from Sheldon Clark to Johnson Central?
Good post. His addition to the Golden Eagles solidifys them as the frontrunners in the 15th.

East Ridge Coach??????
Surprised this job wasn't given to Mercer. He did well with the JV last year. If he is the assistant principal, then I assume he isn't coaching JV either? Randy McCoy? Always the popular option. What about the last head basketball coach Millard had that left ER for South Floyd? Joe Marson?

Shelby Valley 12 Pike Central 6
SV has put themselves in great position for the playoffs with the victory. Congrats to the Wildcats.

Jenkins 26 Phelps 22
Big win for a Jenkins program that has been struggling for a long time. They are in position for at least a tie-breaking scenario for the 4th playoff spot if you take into account that the Cavs defeated Allen Central last year and they should again this season and that Phelps defeated South Floyd and the Raiders have to travel to Jenkins this season. Congrats to the Cavaliers.

WYMT Tourney
Bell may be a long haul considering teams from the 15th have to cross Pine Mountain in January.

WYMT Tourney
In the 13th...Why not try Clay County? I agree, after working as part of the media during the 15th Region tournament last year, there is no place better than the Expo Center for a tournament. Hands down.

WYMT Tourney
And if Phelps, East Ridge, Sheldon Clark, Lawrence Co, or Shelby Valley have to travel to Hazard it's not too far to ask? I think rotating the tourny between the 3 participating regions is a great idea to freshen up the marquee tournament in the mountains.

OJ Mayo and Oak Hill Academy
OJ made ESPN again today...I'm sure many of you guys in NE KY already knew this but, Huntington High will be playing Ashland. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/news/story?id=2575480

First "actual" win on the gridiron since 2004...Congrats to Betsy Layne. Sounds like things are heading in the right direction on the hill.

East Ridge coach moves on
Most people say McCoy sitting in the stands watching too.

Hazard Job
:thumb: Totally agree. And for those who don't know, McCoy is well qualified. He won the 15th Region & the All "A" Regional. He coached the KY All-Stars sometime ago. He was also an assistant at Morehead State. Still, that's not enough to keep the Hazard money happy.

Prestonsburg put on probation by KHSAA
Everyone keeps saying kudos to Prestonsburg for turning themselves in for this, give me a break. Prestonsburg doesn't have a good track record and for them to turn themselves in just sounds fishy to me. An assistant football coach, up for re-election, commits a violation. He's gone from the program as the school hurries to clean up the incident. Do you honestly think that someone at the school just out of the blue said, "Hey, we committed a violation, we need to report it before we get in trouble." No, someone wanting to cause trouble brought this up, exposing Barber who is up for re-election, told the AD who warned the school to do something before it got out-of-hand. THAT'S MY OPINION ONLY. I just find it hard to believe that Prestonsburg decided to be altar boys and come clean. Too much has been done on & off the field for Prestonsburg to suddenly try to play by the rules and voluntarily admit to guilt. Besides, it was common knowledge to everyone that follows county sports that the two young men in question left AC for Prestonsburg for sports. It's been happening for years.

Prestonsburg put on probation by KHSAA
 I have a $5 bill that says nothing is done to the head coach of the program. That's where the buck stops isn't it? In this case, it's where it's swept under the rug. Is Barber still an assistant? If he is, nothing will happen to him either.

Prestonsburg put on probation by KHSAA
What people are you talking about. The folks who support the program and fans don't see where Prestonsburg has done anything wrong in this. The principal says it himself - they unintentionally did something wrong.

Mercer Co's new mascot is Titans
Fighting Scotties is cooler than Titans...But Titans is way better than Trailblazers.

Prestonsburg put on probation by KHSAA
I have always liked Derossett, yet something needs to be done. This is two seperate violations in 2 years, and as the KHSAA report says, this shows instability in the Prestonsburg program. I think it's funny though that Principal Ted George is deflecting any wrongdoing by the school, saying the school "unintentionally" broke the rules. Give me a break. Prestonsburg has always been a football school and they will to no length to keep the program up every year, whether it be recruiting or keeping a hazing incident quiet. Doesn't matter, the beat goes on for blue bloods.
