Just wondering if we know yet who is scheduled to be in the WYMT Tourney this year?

What does everyone think about it changing sites between the two big gyms in the 14th region(Knott Central and Perry Central) As for watching games i love Knott Centrals gym but parking is crazy their! Parking at perry central is much better, but just doesn't have the feel of Knott's place! Knott had this tourney for so long, why did they start alternating this thing in the first place?

I like Knott Centrals gym for the seating, it doesn't have the pull out bleachers but, you have so many steps to climb. PCC is just not as nice , but easier to get to the seats. It all started at KCC. Was played there for years. I think it is alright to change from one to the other as it makes the traveling better for teams at least every other year. I think they do know who is playing.

Anyone know the teams and how they are paired up? usually a good tourney, just wondering are the best teams in the 3 regions in it? 13th,14th,15th

The lighting at John C. Combs Arena is terrible. But, the parking is better than at KCC.

That would be nice. TV and a great facility to play in. I think they should check into that.

Nice thought and great place, but it would be at least 2 to 3 hour trip for most 13th region teams. Tough if you have to play back to back nights.

I know Leslie will be there from the 14th because they won the tourny & the previous winner gets an automatic bid @ the next WYMT tourny...I think that's how it goes

The parking is much better at PCC. When the game is over it is easy to exit on one of the three roads around the gym. No more waiting in lines at Knott Central.

Great facility.... but the drive for most teams in the area, particularily the 13th region, would be a little too much.

I say keep it at Perry and Knott because of their central locations. If not, then also start considering allowing a 13th region site to also host the tournament. That way fans from all 3 regions would eventually get their turn to drive for 3 hours to see the games.

And if Phelps, East Ridge, Sheldon Clark, Lawrence Co, or Shelby Valley have to travel to Hazard it's not too far to ask?

 

I think rotating the tourny between the 3 participating regions is a great idea to freshen up the marquee tournament in the mountains.

Yes, I like the idea of there being a rotation between the three regions. I know the 14th is central, but I think it would be fair to allow all three regions to host it. Just see what happens. IF it doesn't work change back.

What is the nicest school to have the WYMT TOURNEY at in the 13th region?? If they moved it to alternating regions, they would use the expo center in the 15th, knott and pcc in the 14th, Where would it be in the 13th? Biggest gym, easy parking situation, BEST HOSPITALITY ROOM , etc.

 

I know the hospitality room at Knott Central is a heck of a lot better than the peanut butter and jelly or ham sandwiches we get at PCC! Those ladies in Knott county can cook.

I was at all the boys games last year at the expo center during 15th region tourney. There isnt a better facility to have the wymt tourney in their coverage area. If wymt wants to do this tourney right, they will have it at the expo center.

In the 13th...Why not try Clay County?

 

I agree, after working as part of the media during the 15th Region tournament last year, there is no place better than the Expo Center for a tournament. Hands down.
