Congrats to South Floyd..hope to see them play in Richmond.

Nice game Raiders, fell behind early, battled back to win a shootout. Two huge shots by E.Johnson to seal the deal.Both teams shot extremely well, probably between 50 and 60 percent for the game.

Is this an upset?

If it was an upset, it was a mild one. South Floyd suffered through a 6-game losing streak earlier in the year, but have gone 8-3 since then. Paintsville had a 6-game win streak earlier in the year, but have been struggling lately and are only 4-4 since the winning streak was snapped.

Not an upset. South has a ton of talent and can shoot the ball. IMO Johnson is the best PG in the 15th.

Not really an upset, but as seems to be developing into a pattern, Paintsville blows the big lead AGAIN! If they can't hang on to the big leads they run out to, then they have no hope to advance in the tourney this year!

 

I don't understand some of the coaching of BMR during the last 3 minutes of the game?? Oh well ! His record not mine!

It is easy to blame the coaches. You are right, it is his record, not yours, and if you look at his record, that is reason enough to think twice before you question his strategy. The Tigers need a killer instinct; time is running out, and I certainly hope they aren't okay with the loses they have accrued this year. For the Freshmen a year ago that received such high praise, they no longer have four years left to prove they are good -- the time to play is now.

No. South Floyd also won this tournament last season defeating Pikeville.

 

The Raiders have now won the 15th All "A" 3 times in school history, twice over Paintsville. The Tigers knocked off South Floyd once in the title game some years back.

 

Congrats to South Floyd and their coaching staff. They have endured more than their fair share of adversity this season and their players are rising to the challenge of overcoming their probation.

Not all blame goes to the coaches, but some does! And just because BMR is one of the best if not the best coach in EKY and has done wonders for Paintsville basketball and even football, doesn't mean he is always perfect!!! With that said, I hope you are right and the Tigers do get it together by March!

I actually thought Paintsville would win this one, congrats to South Floyd and good luck in Richmond! I will be there pulling for the mountain teams!
