Is Niemi out at Ryle?
He was suspended for religous references? WOW, you would think it would have been something like foul language in the material! If that is the case that is unbelievable!! And shame on parents who have to try to live their lives through their kids and can not support the coach!!

Highest scoring brother combinations in high school history???
I believe Chad about 2300 and Bryant had close to 2500.

10th Region All-Region Team
I kind a felt Elrod had a chance to be the player of the year in the 10th this year as the season was starting. He is an excellent player. I think the problem you run into is that Pendleton is so well rounded, it is hard for any to stand out night in and night out. They take turns standing out. Except for Elliot he seems to be solid every night and Mains is solid every night. THEY'RE ALL SOLID!! But the stats may not always be there in the end. Unfortunately a lot of times stats get some players on the team, because they play on a team that allows them to have those stats. I'd love to see Pendleton's stats. They are all probably real close to each other in many stats. Just goes to show you the old saying "It is amazing what a team can accomplish when no one care who gets the credit" is on the mark again with this team!

3 out of the 4 schools in the All A semi-finals are private schools, should...
I believe there "tends" to be a stronger work ethic and discipline in kids from catholic schools. All schools need talent to be successful. I respect your opinion though but respectfully disagree. I must now move on.

Pendleton Co. 71 Harrison Co. 56
You have to be extremely impressed with the job Coach Biggs, his staff and certainly players have done. Although they did have talent coming back, I am not sure if anyone (Except for the players and coaches) thought they would be having this type of a season after graduating some excellent players! Love to see them back at Rupp!!

"Tend to be" doeas not mean in all instances. And I will stand by that fact that they tend to be. That does not mean "all" and that does not mean that the public schools do not work hard and are not disciplined because many are. I said "Tend to be" (And you also must remember we are discussing All A schools). And if that upsets you I am sorry. But IMO and through my experiences and observations it is true. By the way what is the answer? I am dying to hear it!!

Worst High school gyms you ever played or watched a game in..????

And it shouldn't matter! If a family wants to send their kid to a school like Brossart more power to them. You can not deny the benefits of a catholic education and the discipline that surrounds that education. Which by the way is another reason these schools compete better. Their players tend to me more discipline and put the time in it takes to be great.

Ludlow 66 Beechwood 62
Great job Ludlow players and coaches. Makes the last half of that conference schedule very interesting. I believe the Grove still has to play both of these teams one more time. Beechwood I think has to also play Bellevue one more time. And Ludlow might have to play Bellevue. That is fun stuff for these teams! Great to see Dan start playing like the MAN he can be. If he continues to understand how he can dominate games, he can and will give any team they play fits. They could really be a sleeper team and this game might be the victory that really gets their confidence going.

NKY All-A Article
I think it was HELP!!! LOL But I am not sure what you are talking about. What could he have said before the game? I know the team he had that year and he knew he wasn't any good. I am not sure where that is coming from. But it was awhile ago

All-A Interest in your Region or Area? Up, Down, the Same?
Here are the enrollment numbers from the Kentucky School Directory. I think one of these have to be incorrect (Moore) but it was the only school with that name. Lexington Christian - 1,433 grades K-12 University Heights - 309 grades Pre-school - 12 Moore (this can not be correct) 1624 9-12 Owensboro Catholic - 507, grades 9-12 south Floyd - 357, grades 9-12 Mayfield - 400, grades 9-12 NCC - 490 Fairview - 395, grades 7-12 Somerset - 483 Beth Haven - 366 (K-12) Bardstown - 497 Gallatin County - 438 Barbourville - 690 (P-12) Russellville - 370 Lee Co. - 366 Brossart - 400 I would say for the most part these are "bigger" A schools. Wow University Heights is small. How are they always so good!! Do not see a whole lot of schools that are small. More like medium.

All-A Interest in your Region or Area? Up, Down, the Same?
No, not at all> But 400 students from grades 10-12, which means the high school has over 500 students. Not quite an all A school population if you ask me.

All-A Interest in your Region or Area? Up, Down, the Same?
They certainly should change the name. It is not an "All A" Tourney by any stretch. I know in the 10th Brossart usually always has a cake walk and in the 9th it is either St. Henry or New Cath. Unless Holy Cross won last night.

Beechwood/Holy Cross Friday Night
WOW!! Are you sure? I think Moore, Sawyer, and Mericle might take offense to that statement. they are a tough group

Brossart 69 Calvery 33
If he is good enough and leads Calvary to some impressive victories., he will get plenty of press.

Ludlow 73 Calvary 51
Those are the kind of stats Penick must have for Ludlow to be successful. Good luck against St. Henry

Beechwood 72 Silver Grove 53
I am not sure what was meant by this comment. The game was at Beechwood. I thought the officiating had no outcome with the game, whether someone thought it was good or bad. This outcome was determined by the horrendous shooting of the Big Trains. I know in the first half the Pelle boys were 1/14 from the field and it really did not get much better in the second half. Beechwood has a fine team. They have a very solid core around Romes. Chaz Moore played a very good game and has grown quite a bit since his Bellevue days and Sawyer, although not a real shooting threat, plays excellent defense and handles the point very well. Romes is an awfully good player and plays with a quietness about him I really like. Never gets very flustered. I think when they play at the Grove and the Grove shoots better (hopefully), they have a chance, but Beechwood is definitely in the drivers seat. Congrats to Coach Herold and the Tigers, they are pretty good!!

Beechwood vs. Silver grove
This is a big conference game tonight. Both teams are playing extremely well. It will be a good matchup between Justin Pelle and Micheal Romes. Beechwood might have to much depth and it really helps them to have Chaz Moore. But If Corey Pelle can shoot like he apparently did against Ludlow and the wiseman kid comes to play, I think the guard play for the Big Trains could help pull off this upset. If Romes is able to get to the basket at will like he seems to be doing it will be a long night. But the matchup should be fun to watch.

Best Big Man in NKY
When you are 6-8 you don't give up the ball especially when the people who are guarding you are so much smaller. It seems to me that Dan plays way to much facing the basket instead of posting up. This kid should absolutely DOMINATE on the court. But it seems to me he would rather dribble the ball between his legs and make a no-look pass and shoot the three instead of getting his body on the block, demanding the ball and scoring more. Ludlow is struggling. He needs to help his team win and he won't do that continuing the way he is playing. He has all the skills but doesn't always seem to want to get after it. IMO

LaSalle, OH 55 Brossart 52 OT
I am trying to figure out where you saw that. I can not find an Ohio poll for this year. But if LaSalle is in the top 10 in the state then the GCL must be loaded this year. And knowing people in the GCL, it is a young group. I will keep looking for that poll though. I also have a topugh time believing a #4 ranked team in Cincinnati is in the top 10 in the state.

LaSalle, OH 55 Brossart 52 OT
I am sorry, I was looking at last years final results. But I will get back on that LaSalle being ranked so high. Because I don't believe it. Have to go to church. Merry Christmas

LaSalle, OH 55 Brossart 52 OT
Striker. This is what I love about this site. You do not have a clue what you are talking about, even though you tell me I do not. LaSalle is nowwhere to be found in the state poll. That is Moeller who is ranked sixth. The same Moeller team I predict LaSalle will lose to twice. And the way Elder handled CovCath in 2nd half and X's demolition of Dixie, LaSalle may go winless in the GCL (just like I stated). That is not an indication of a "very very" good team. Apology excepted!! LOL
