  1. This would be the first signature win for the Panther program under Mills. KC 22 M 21
  2. I love it! If they win, the kids did a great job. If they lose, the coaches are doing a horrible job. That seems to be Middlesboro athletics in a nutshell.
  3. Cumberland's out of district schedule for '07; Lynn Camp, Williamsburg, Knott Central, Cawood and Pike Central
  4. Congrats to Coach Elam and the Panthers!
  5. The Enterprise is always instrumental in getting the truly deserving athletes the recognition they deserve when it comes to AP All-State and such, (Freddie Maggard, Lori Kluck, George Massey). I don't think HDE has much to do with all-district voting and such. redskin4life, I bet if you gave HDE a solid lead on a feel good story about one of the kids from Cumberland or a coach, it would make the paper. Something positive and interesting to shed a different light on how kids from the area are viewed. Maybe it would change the way you feel about The Enterprise. The paper always needs something to print. Why not make it something good?
  6. I have seen several occasions when HDE has stood up for the athletes at Cumberland when it comes to post season awards or publicity. Harlan is 25 miles from Cumberland. Why not jump the Tri-City News for not covering local sports the way they should? With all the youth and families involved in Cumberland athletics there should be two full pages a week in that paper covering sports! I bet you could even cover the events and write the stories, you might even get paid. Then again, it wouldn't be about the money.
  7. Congrats to Cumberland on a good win!
  8. So Knox Central has secured a spot in the playoffs, correct? Congrats to the Panthers!
  9. Coach Cobb works on the running game tonight. Jumpers-59 Wildcats-13
  10. Congrats to the Jackets! I know Lynn Camp has stumbled through the first half a few times and come back to win some big games. This does not sound like them.
  11. These posts will really have the Campers fired up, they will give the Jackets all they want. Middlesboro has much better athletes but this is a football game and not a track meet. The flash of the Yellowjackets will be met with brute physicality by the Wildcats. Midd. - 21 Camp - 24
  12. Are we talking about the big kid #10 for Hazard?
  13. Cawood will lead at halftime 14-7, Harlan will win in the end 28-22.
  14. Championship is Thursday, probably at 6:00. Congrats to Knox on a strong finish to their season. It appears all the teams in the 13th region have played good baseball in this tournament.
  15. In this scenario there are two outs and the runner should be running all the way to the plate on any hit into the outfield whether he is on second or third base.
  16. 1. Leslie Co. 2. Pikeville 3. Lee Co. 4. North Laurel 5. South Laurel 6. Cumberland 7. Allen Central 8. Johnson Central 9. Whitley Co. 10. Letcher Central
  17. 9-3. Not the results most people would have thought. Odd that the Yellowjackets would play a regional championship in the All A Classic at 5:00 in Cumberland and then have another game scheduled on their home field at 8:00 the same evening. I guess they thought they would 10 run rule the Redskins and then move on. Congrats to the Redskins for the victory over Middlesboro and moving on to the sectional championship of the All A Classic.
  18. No, not final. Cumberland did not play Whitley County.
  19. Cumberland is 2-0, defeating Breathitt 6-3 and Johnson Central 13-12, both on the road.
  20. Sit in the parent's section of any losing team's bleachers. They are the experts.
  21. Someone be sure and tell the basketball coaches this!
  22. June 25 to July 9 for all sports. Except open gym, open field, open weight room. Good time for kids to go to individual camps.
