Cumberland 27 Lynn Camp 15

The Campers led 15-13, but Cumberland rallied. Tough, tough loss for Lynn Camp.

This one comes as kind of a shock to me but not really an upset.

I agree. It was a small upset, but Cumberland is good. Last night put LC out of the playoffs, IMO. Somerset, Harlan, Williamsburg and Cumberland are potential locks now in 1-4 now. Somerset is next and has a lot of potential to be an ugly game for the Cats. 'Congrats to the Skins. This was probably the last ever meeting between these two schools, with the consolidation.

LC no where near out of playoffs...Very balanced district this year 2 thru 6

Congrats to Cumberland on a good win!

A loss in the next 2 games pretty much kills LC in the hunt. Tie breakers would be back breakers for the Cats. Somerset and W'burg@W'burg still left. Tall order. Don't know if the guys are up to the challenge. Wheels seem to be coming off right at the wrong time. I might be, and hope I am, wrong, but I still say that LC will most likely end up #5 and wondering what if.........

The Lynn Camp-Williamsburg game will likely determine fourth place.

Actually I think the Williamsburg-Cumberland game will determine if LC makes the playoffs. If Williamsburg wins LC is out, due to lack of tiebreaker points.

I agree.

Perhaps I'm missing something. I see your point if there is a three-way tie, but if Cumberland wins then the Williamsburg-Lynn Camp winner will finish fourth.

HDE,

I've really not set back yet and actually looked, so you may be right, but Mitchell told me if Williamsburg wins against Cumberland then his team is out of the picture....but now I'm gonna look and see.

He's probably right about that. I hadn't broken down the tie-breaker possibilities.

I'd give Cumberland the edge in that game though, which would make the Lynn Camp-Williamsburg game for fourth place.

I am fairly certain that, barring a miracle and some inspired play, that LC is just playing out a season right now that held some promise, but never materialized into solid play. I think that pretty much now they're playing for pride and the playoffs are out of reach. Too much "if this" or "if that" happens to make it in. Even if Williamsburg falters and LC takes 4th, it's looking like that 4th place is just a sacrifice to the Jumpers, anyway.

What was the deciding factor in this game? Cumberland defense or did someone step up for the Skins? How did the Camp fare against Washington?

Nip and tuck 1st half. 3rd qtr. was trading scores. A fumble by LC led to a go ahead score for C'land and a big play on 3rd and long on their end of the field really turned the game around completely. Washington gave LC trouble and Joe gave the Skins a lot of trouble. Kind of dreading tomorrow night, though. The Jumpers are playing very good football.
