DRAGONPAPPY
What does Cumberland need to do to improve in 2007? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive. Coaches need to put "team" ahead of talent and not allow "talent" to throw tantrums on the field, and cost their team yards due to stupid "sportsmanship" penalties. nomorenoles
Seemed to have some good young kids last year. This may be their year. A schools seem to have talent ups and downs. They are due for an upswing.
shs2005
Zach Blanton and Nethanial Gillium are two very good players that return for the Skins. These are two young Athletes that you could build your program around.
46 Sprint Out
Playing at least a semi-competitive out of district schedule couldn't hurt......

SpeedDemon
Cumberland's out of district schedule for '07; Lynn Camp, Williamsburg, Knott Central, Cawood and Pike Central
46 Sprint Out
That's definately a step up for Cumberland in regards to the out of district schedules of years past. Congratulations to them, I think they will be a dangerous team next year, and playing a somewhat higher level of competition will only help them come playoff time. lungbuster
Its always said better comp makes you better, but more importantly is confidence. Everyone throws off on Jon for his schedule but maybe he was trying to instill a winning attitude more than anything?
WILDMAN
What kind of player will Shaquille Clark be this year? I remember watching him in middle school and he was an animal. He'll be a sophomore right?
whyme
Jon has done a fine job at Cumberland and his team will be fine this year.
lungbuster
I look for him to have a great year. In reference to a weak schedule, how long has Jon been at Cumb. and what is his overall county record? If i am correct hasn't Cumb. beat Harlan 4 out of the last 5 and wasn't the 1 time a major fluke. Also, they have beat Cawood the last two for sure. what about Evarts? If what i am thinking is true maybe Jon knows a little more about schedules than most give him credit.
SomersetFootball
They lost to Harlan on a ridiculous kickoff! Harlan kicked the ball off and it hit the middle front man from Cumberland and bounced right back to a Harlan player...Game over
lungbuster
Yeah, that was the fluke i was talking about. IF what i was told at the barber shop is correct thats the only w Harlan has over Cumb in awhile. I was just wondering how long Jon had been there making a connection versus his weak schedule. WILDMAN
He coached at Knox Central a few years back...maybe 2000 and 2001?? I think he just taught at Cumberland without coaching for a year or two before becoming the football coach when Frank Vicini stepped down. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is how it all goes.
