Who are the freshman playing for Boone this year? Any nice players?

What people don't understand about this St Herny team is that it basically have ZERO players right now with Varsity experience. The past 2 seasons varsity experienced players like Cameron Speed, David Zumdick 2yrs ago and Ryan Anderson, Ben Bessler, Jake Hils last season all have come and gone. Now the kids playing behind those talented players are finally getting there chance to step up. And to add to it....the only player with any big game experience (Barnett) suffers a tough injury in the first game of the season. But don't get me wrong....Im not making excuses for the CRU. They still have a lot of work to do and have to get better on both sides of the ball.

Sounds like more like Heritage Acadamy or Covington Latin in NKY. But these schools are classified in the districts with big schools like Boone Co, Conner, Ryle, Cooper and Holmes, CovCath, Holy Cross.....but they just forfeit the regular season district play. Sounds like something the administration at BROWN might want to consider. Heritage doesn't play district foes in the regular season but does play in the Tournament play.....most usually 1 and out.

This game was pretty tight throughout. It was helter skelter out there. Impressed at times by a couple young players at Grant Co. Overal it was just an ugly game by both squads.

1. This is the fastest Holmes team I've seen in the past 15yrs 2. Hayes is a legit top 3 player in the region. Maybe #1. 3. Holmes pressing up 40 in the first half was a bit rediculous.

Any Dixie people have any idea if Keyvon Rice has had a ruling yet on his eligiblity?

You guys need to see the entire list. Top 100 has Neltner and Doellman included.

As of now they are saying 6-8wks for Barnett. Hopefully he can come back by the ALL A vs NCC.

Barnett broke his fibia against Brossart and will be out for some time.

Like I've said before. Top 10 is pretty wide open. Top 6 or 7 teams are definetly top 10 but in no real particular order. I think we'll see a lot of teams in that top 3 catagory throughout the season. As for the Top 10 players. Its basically the same. You could name 15-20 guys who could be Top 10 players in this region. Can you say WIDE OPEN?????

WOW WOW WOW....Congrats to the Lady Cru!

I've put up my top 10 list many times in years past. I looked at this one this year and knew all the players. But this is one of the toughest years to rank players in the area in my opinion. The competition is very spread out. No one is a clear cut favorite like Holmes and CovCath have been over the past 5-10yrs. Another reason its so hard to rank the players is the differences in positions and types of players. This year has some good post players, some few good wings, a few good shooters, and a few good point guards. Most years I can point to a somewhat legit top 10. This year I believe its pretty wide open for the kids to prove themselves as the season begins.

Its unreal how some Boone parents and followers can't realize how great of a Coach they have in Coach McQueary. The problem isn't the system or the coach....its the kids and the parents.

I agree about Meiman. He will see time this year. I know he was probably upset he didn't get more time last year, but that was a pretty good group of Seniors ahead of him.

I might be missing out here....but I heard that a Holmes player was transferring to HC also. McLendon? Am I just late on this? Also Cam Murphy is going to be a heck of a player. His dad just took the girls job so I imagine he's leaving CCH to go to HC.

The only returning starter is Zach Barnett. Zach really played well and began to get comfortable in the offense during the 2nd half of the season last year. His speed, defensive skills, and shooting really have improved over the past 3 seasons. His best asset seems to be taking the ball to hole strong, but he needs to do this a bit more now that he's known as a 3pt shooter. Sam Dedden is the player to watch. He will be a junior and has a lot talent. He's long and athletic. Reminds me a lot of Ben Kuebbing or Bennie Bessler. I expect him to start from day 1. Darius Meiman has a lot to learn to be a big impact at the Varsity level. I see him playing both JV and Varsity again this season, with his role developing a bit as the season goes. He's got a bright future at St Henry. At the point guard spot, I would expect to see Ben Hils (younger brother of Jake) take over at some point next season. He'll be a sophmore and as a freshman impressed the staff very much. From what I know the incoming Freshman class will have a good amount of talent. Which could be a good thing for this young team, but with Dixie loaded this season.....the Cru has some work to do.

I used to play ball against Bryan a lot in HS and college. He was great guy. This news unreal, and I hope these guys pay bigtime. RIP Bryan Stevenson.....a huge loss to the NKY sports community.

Heard today that NKU is not really looking to offer Foster a scholarship. Shame cuz I'd like to see him get a 4yr chance there. Bet he'd get an offer if he had went to Holy Cross???

I think Elijiah has so much talent and god given skill. His gifts are unreal. This is a kid who, if he really works at it. Gets those grades up and finds a good NCAA fit....could be making a living playing basketball the rest of his life. I wish him the best and look forward to hopefully watching him play at big school someday.

I've heard earlier this year that Coach Huggins has show a particular interest in Elijiah and helping him find a good JUCO.....any truth to this?
