Belfry Wins

Belfry is pretty well conditioned team, we alwasy play a lot both ways, and depth is still something they are working on. One thing is the way they are rotating their backs they get a lot of rest, and also they do rotate lineman some, but that dont get notcied as much. SC and Pikeville both has about everybody going both ways, so should be good there, my concern for Pikeville is they are getting challenged everyweek, and we got East Ridge, Shelby Valley and open week. Here is a good quote from Goldsmith. “This may be one of the best defensive units in the state,” Goldsmith said of Belfry's unit, which held the Bulldogs to 122 yards of total offense. “I thought we came in with a good game plan, but we failed to match their force, especially early on in the game.”

Just out of curosity, how would you stack this Belfry team over the teams you have faced the last couple of years?

We got ER, Valley, and a off week nustled in between. As a non-player for us its easy for a fan to look ahead.

Congrats Pikeville, I know you guys arent concerned about it yet, but Im looking forward to a game on up twoards the end of the month, will be a classic.

Way to go Belfry, I wished Belfry could have had another tougher game before Pikeville. SV wont be to bad but still I would have liked to have had another Corbin type game. LC hang in there guys, you have as fine as fans and players as anybody. A team with a classy program will get better in time and one day you guys will be back to Lawrence of old.

If they get lucky maybe but I doubt it, ER likes to run and I will be suprised to see anybody have to much sucess running on Belfry. But sorry about the loss ER, hang in there, if Branham hangs around he can atleast bring consistancy to a program, ER will one day build their program up, but classy school with classy people.

Wow, after Boyd scrimaged Belfry Im suprised they battled Russell so well, good job. As for Russell tradition never dies, alot questions still to answer, but enough pride in football there to assure they will be answered in time.

Here is the thing, SC offense has looked good, but Fairland is down a little this year. SC has to get their defense to come around, they are horiable in pass coverage. They are good but IMO SC hasn't clicked yet this year, but they will.

The thing is and its something I though but wasnt for sure on but tonight proved it. What beat Corbin against Belfry was getting out muscled, but this team is fast, and they will be hard to beat with speed. You want to beat thest guys you better have good speed yourself and be able to line up and hit them hard.

You know to much off the top of your head Hound82 haha. One thing that concerns me about this game is the fact that Corbin got dominated by Belfry at the line, given most schools do. Belfry probably should have scored 2 or 3 more times. But one thing Corbin tried to do I think is center around the run game, it might work better agaisnt Dumbar but Belfry returned their front seven and had a new secondary, you throw the ball. I think Corbin shouldnt rely on the pass as much as past. But 70-80 percent Id be throwing the football, especialy if they are no holes opening whatsoever.

I dont know much about Ohio football except for some of the bigger schools, but aren't they kind of like lets say a Paintsville, normally dont beat the big teams but usualy pretty decent for their class?

Corbin was fine, I mean they returned nine starters on both sides of the ball. Belfry's defense was just to fast for Corbin. The Redhounds had a nice team and everybody knows that, they step up and hit you and they have a great line.

No its the Louisville Holy Cross Cougars and they are 1a.

One thing that wont work on Belfry is the trick play. Trick plays are for teams that have no discipline on offense, you can have all the talent in world but trickness wont beat Belfry (see Pikeville), only way to beat Belfry is to beat them up front, see Russell last year. But they traditionaly do play the Pirates tough, but congrats on the victory.

They get the stats from Belfry, so it should be accurate, plus that is about what WYMT had from my understaning.

Im disapointed in JC, watering down your schedule, why dont you gu ys play somebody haha? I'm JP but good luck, you guys play awesome schedule, great team and program.

Nah the Horsemen has them beat haha. I actualy dont know much about Lex. Football this year.

I dont know if it's selected already or not or if Belfry even has Hall of Fame game now, but they defiantly should honor him and his family with that this year.

I think that like even the Pike County Bowl which is set to kick at 7:05, will get majory delayed on that sport turf.

It till be very emotional night wtih a lot of tears, I know they are having wrist bands made for him and ordered something for their helmet. They wont be very many dry eyes at the begining of the game. I know mine wont be.

From my understanding a lot of the guys are taking this really hard, he was more than a fan, more than an announcer, more than a teacher, the man was a friend. When I was in highchool I thought the world of the man, one of my favorite people there, and my heart breaks for Brenda and their family. Good thing is the man served and trusted in the Lord, and he is in a better place than we could ever imagine.

Belfry will def be playing on emotional high tonight, and no doubt we will have help from above.

It's to close to call they are just more Belfry fans than anybody else. Honestly nobody knows what to expect. I will say Corbin is better than they get credit for, they are fast and big, can run and pass. They are the real deal and a complete package, Belfry better bring their A game if they plan on getting the victory
