Class 3A Playoffs
I talked to a very unbiased person from Johnson County, they told me Central was very athletic and fast. But wanted no part of physical moutnain football, and if that be the case I guarantee you one of the teams fromt he East, whoever it is, has a nice little suprise for them.

Belfry 34 Sheldon Clark 7
Your just wanting to make sure your guys stays one up on Haywood, I see how you are haha. Seriously Id be very happy to see both of them win state this year.

Who has the most improved team so far?
In our viewing area I would have to go with Pike County Central, they are a nice football team and would really do well in certain disctricts. However having to be placed with Belfry and SC isnt nice. But they arent a bad team.

Bell County @ Sheldon Clark Predictions
One question I have is from a SC fan perspective, how do you think the schedule (obviously) weak compared to other teams will affect them in this game? I think one thing as tough as Dials is, he wont be able to handle as many carries as he has the past few weeks, this enters SC's brutal part of schedule, two tough weeks.

Sheldon Clark 42 Pike Central 14
First congrats on the win, from watching PCC so far this year, I have been under the impression they dont handle a physical team very well. Did that appear to be the case from your viewpoint?

Can fans really motivate or help a team come game time?
I can tell you from first hand experience when you walk out on the field and see your side packed otu with fans their to support you it gives you chills. I wasnt on this team bu in 03 when Belfry went to Middlesboro, you have to get dressed and then arrive on the buse, when the players arrived Belfry side was completely filled and theyw ere all on their feet cheering like crazy, I could only imagine how it made them feel, Middlesboro fans were intimidated by it also, they looked over all warmups. It means a lot to know that your playing for more than just a team or your brothers, but your playing for a whole community.

Beechwood vs Prestonsburg
Ill give you credit that last year was a clean Pburg team. I was a senior on 01 team, very physical, and they did have a lot of late hits then, we got spit on that year 2 walking under bleachers haha. But yeah Im not saying that to knock you guys, nothing but respect for Pburg, wish we could have continued the series.

Top Defenses
Just wondering how many defenses has yet to surrender a point with their first team Defense in, I know Belfry hasn't. Was just wondering if they are any more?

Belfry 49 Pikeville 7
Here is my understanding of the matter, keep in mind there are rules about how much they are allowed to talk about recruits, so I asked a staff member and they didn' comment to me, but I asked a player, who is from Belfry hard to figure that one out I know haha. But he said as of right now they are wanting Dustin to walk on. However I have a job which I work closely with Marshall University, and I know they have made some looks at Dustin also, from my understanding UK is looking at him for Tight End.

Tolsia, W.Va. 27 Pike Co. Central 6
Well I liked the old playoff when it was four classes and play seed from out of district. I still like ours better than WV, because it can prevent teams from scheduling as tough as schedule as they would like to.

Tolsia, W.Va. 27 Pike Co. Central 6
Yeah that is right, and you get a point for each game the team you beat wins. I dont like WV playoff system. I like having district play.

Tolsia, W.Va. 27 Pike Co. Central 6
BTW Belfry tried to schedule both Tolsia and Wayne this year, I would have really liked to seen the Wayne matchup, although I haven't seent hem this year, but I understand both teams not taking the game. In West Virginia every game is so important and a loss can kill you and their schedules are pretty tough already.
-
Tolsia, W.Va. 27 Pike Co. Central 6
No I'm saying that is Pike Centrals weakness, but Tolsia I dont think is as good as their record indicates, and they wont make a serious playoff run this year. They will be back to form in a year or two but this team is not Tolsia this year, they simply lost to much off last years squad, and yes I have watched Tolsia this season.

Tolsia, W.Va. 27 Pike Co. Central 6
Honestly Im not very impressed with Tolsia this year. PCC was facing a uphill battle for two reasons, one is its tough to win at Tolsia. Also the Rebels are a physical team, and that poses a problem to Pike Central IMO. Got to regroup and get ready for Sheldon Clark.

Mountain Top 10 Week 6
Ill be honest with you bigguy I have beend kind of disapointed with SC, and I have seen them in person. But its still a young season, what was my concern for them when I saw them was their defense, but now their offense does seem to be sputtering. When I seen them, Ill be honest I said they wont run on Belfry this year, not looking ahead at all, but I still dont think they will, this team tackles better. But to your guys credit your second best player is just finaly getting back on the field. The PCC game can be a little concern though with your guys inability in the game I saw to stop a pass, they aren't a bad team. That quarterback can scramble also.

Belfry 49 Pikeville 7
I kn ow you guys are going on missed opportunities, but Belfry had several that game as well, just as easy as it could have been 21-14 it could have been 42-0. Belfry has really came a long way offensivley since then, they add new wrinkles each game. The shutout streak for the varsity defense continues, I will say this if you beat Belfry it will be done by the air, because I dont see teams running on Belfry, however I havent watched JC yet.

Belfry 49 Pikeville 7
Not much Pikevilel can say about this one, its not that their line didn't want it, but Belfrys' line was just better on both sides of the ball. Thing I was most impressed with tonight was taclking, Belfry really wrapped up well against some good runners.

Pike County Central at Tolsia, WV/Predictions
Difference in this game is on the line. Tolsia is very young but still stout on the line of scrimage, a very physical club.

Pikeville vs. Belfry
I reallye xpect a low scoring game. Even though both teams are explosives, they both have pretty good defense. I look for Belfry to wear Pikeville down and win late.
-
Buy Or Sell?
Ones Im familiar with Pikeville - Buy, they are good, they drove the ball well on Lex Cath and was a couple big breaks from hanging around, this is a godot eam with a tough schedule and i look to be on carpet. Breathitt - sale, Belfry looks really good right now, and the road is to tough for the Bobcats to overcome. Johnson Central- Id love to buy them but Highlands keeps me from it.

WYMT Play of the Week is a KICK???
Crazy thing is Belfrys kicker Glenn "Hoss" Earnest hit a 50 yarder Saturday, usually those kicks are rare in mountain football and two in one week.
-
Philip Haywood & Dudley Hilton
The thing I liked what Haywood said wwhen asked about it, he was like no big deal that it just means he has coached for a long time and coaches dont win games but the players, it just means he has been surrounded by great players and dedicated coaches. While all this is true they are a reason they are the way they are, because of classy coach like Coach Haywood. What would have been intense would be if Bell could have played Belfry this season, Belfry tried to make it happen. That would have been fun, to bad Bell couldnt get the schedule to fit.

Belfry 51 Lawrence County 20
Belfry does have a young secondary, but they couldn't have been two better games to prepare them for the season than their frist 2. Both teams who like to throw it, while it was weak at times it has been great. I'm most suprised with the offensive line. They have done a great job. As far as defense front seven and backfield not to many people questioned that. I have a really good friend who has seen both Belfry and Sheldon Clark, and he says right now with SC defense no comparisson who is the better as of now. We will get a better read from Lawrence fans next week maybe.

Kickers This Year
Belfry has a good kicker in Glenn Earnest who is a old fashion straight on lineman kicker. He is 1-2 in field goals this year, with the one bein long enough but just wide. I know he was 3-3 in PAT against Corbin and I think missed one against Lawrence. His first kickoff against Corbin was a touchback.
