  1. Lost in all of this , East must have a pretty good TEAM.
  2. East needs to maybe SHOOT the ball and well here it is to much coaching let them freelance and run the floor play a little street ball a good dose of coach just letting them play not pass around the perimeter , same for years watch as the guard walks the ball down then to a wing and never an attempt at penetratition, Jackson needs to be turned loose. They need the Mays approach
  3. East played as to not to lose rather than playing to win if that makes since, Fairview done what it needed very good win for Fairview, East better learn to loosen up and let their kids play.
  4. East should be at full strength the two that wre out played against Morgan only way East keeps it respectful is dominate time of possesion, easy said but east might suprise some folk with their size and athletes. Elliott 87 East 75
  5. I'man East fan but realisticly Russell completely dominates East, as shown last week some teams never seam to get to the same level as schools with the winning traditions. Russell 35 East 6
  6. Mason probably will prevail by the numbers of actual productive players then again East d is pretty good especially with White back which he did play against Raceland and is a great rb infront of Caroll with that said Mason 27 East 14
  7. First off thanks for the updates Ram and really suprised East scoring 35
  8. East doesn't have the horses to move the ball on offense against most teams they will play this year,7 points in 2 games, on the other hand their d seems to be pretty good 12 points in 2 games. Their depth may be their achilles heel last week one player being out really stuck out to me , I'd say Raceland 21 East 7
  9. Theres a good possibility that East might have a different QB next year with Carroll at tailback which in my opinion would make them a much stronger offensive team. As long as Damron is at the helm East program will always be a contender
  10. I believe passing the ball gives the offense the bigger advantage as the receiver knows and can prepare his cuts or moves as the defender has to adjust on these moves with out the benefit of knowing which way he must plant. In muddy conditions this leaves the defender on the ground alot
  11. Yes East would be considering they are very young along with some un timely loss of some key players for different reasons, but they are still good enough to make the playoffs in their district, coach Damron really is over achieving with the players that he has this year last years team was senior dominated and it will be a rebuilding process
  12. Great game by the Rams was really impressed in all aspects as for East's Qb he was going to have his ankle checked out might be pretty serious but thats all I know
  13. I don't see Fairview being a big threat to Raceland, very good ball team
  14. 102.3 FM they swap between East and West so not sure but will find out shortly and post
  15. I thought I would just make a comment since the Raceland contingent are so assured of eating pastries this fri night yes East is down and yes Raceland will more than likely win but it seems a bit like you guys think East won't showup least just remember this isn't the same program that it was pre -Damron they will compete.
  16. Taking no credit from Greenup co. but East is really young and inexperienced there is talent there but alot of players starting off last years team is back, hopefully Damron can get them headed in the right direction with a couple of games
  17. East Carter had a kid ejected last year in their grid game and he had to sit out the first regular season game
  18. Good game after taking a whipping against Boyd last night.
  19. Does anybody know how East has done in their other games at South Carolina?
  20. We parked under the interstate and was pretty close to the field, maybe 3 minute walk. You might ask about bringing noise makers as we were told that the announcer could not be heard which was fine they were the wooden clappers. I'd say if there isn't any more rain it shouldn't be that bad with the cold it should chill the top of the ground as the middle of the field had no grass but was really a great surface last week.
  21. I'd say from a player to player Russell may have an advantage but then again Newport have some really standout players such as #2 Glenn and their QB is a really good athlete as well as a couple of others. Then I think about Russell and they are so fundamentally sound as a team that it kinda starts to sway back their way. Then you have the Ivan factor and in my opinion he's the best in our area. In the end I see Russell winning but maybe not putting Newport away as easily as who they have faced in the last couple of games. My take Russell 35 Newport 20.
  22. I probably should not have said some of that about the fans in my post as I was a little disapointed when I wrote the above post like you say most were just kids any how good luck next week against Russell.
