I think this will be a lower scoring game than most expect. The team with the best defense will come out on top. If the field is muddy it will favor Russell, IMO.

Newport is a completely different team then usual and has one of the most devastating offeneses in NKY. Not too sure how good Russell is this year, but Im pretty sure Newport will put up alot of points.

If the rain from Tuesday night/Wednesday morning doesn't dry up or if it rains Friday the field may resemble the mud slop that the regular season Bellevue/NCC game was played in at Newport Stadium.

Any more news about moving the game to a different field? I know that a couple of years ago, we moved one of our playoff games to a different field because ours was in bad shape as well from previous weeks of rain games. I don't know if KHSAA made us or we did it on our own.

 

But if we do have to play, we only need to remember last years game at Belfry and their field conditions. As we all know it will be extremely important to hold onto the ball. Take the yards they give us, but the RB's and QB's must MUST put 2 hands on the ball and cover it up and hold on, because I'm sure Newport will be trying to strip it all night (just as we should)
