I know East wil be pullin for the devils would have loved to save you the trip to Newport but couldn't get it done Newport has a nice team with some speed but I don't see Russell having alot of problems advancing , go do our district proud.

First congrats to Newport as for scoring on the subs I didn't see manychanges in the lineup any time in the 4th. East was beaten and I'll give Newport credit ,turnovers that were forced by Newport was the difference in the game and I will say they are quick , East gave up an early td and were driving when they lost the ball on a fumble and just seemed to not be able to get their offense going. I'll say this because it has really been hard onhim my son #15 was the one that fumbled twice as East was driving, you can say what you want but I'm still very proud of him and all the raiders, as far as fans go and this is not all but alot Newport has the most obnoxious fans I have ever seen they acted as if they wanted to start something all night and in the end I reckon they did as East pep bus was coming around to pick up the kids, just flat no class take as you want because that is how it was and I have no reason to say this without reason. As for the coaches and players they showed great sportsmanship. In the end the credit goes to Newports football team you beat us fair and square no excuses.

East d getting no respect

I can't say they won't but if Newport scores 40 on East I'll be shocked, East pass d has really picked up the nack of the way to defend the pass and hope this team isn't that great at passing, if the Newport d is as strong as said by some how did they give up so many points against Lloyd. cause to be honest East could have kept Lloyd from scoring at least one of the 3 td's scored on them as one was against jv and freshman d from East so is their d that tough or has their oponets been that weak, not being smart just curious and b the way East has a very capable passing game but why use it when your running over people so now I 'd say East o and d line haven't been given enough credit they aren't huge but are very fast as lineman go,anyhow good luck to both with no injuries for either team, the Raiders will be rolling in with plenty of support the school has shown great support with at least 2 bus loads of students not counting the community look for a convoy to roll into Newport.

East lack of experience isn't an excuse this bunch have been in the playoffs every year since Damron took over granted they have only one playoff win . I know this bunch of kids wellsince they played jfl and they are a special bunch of young men so I'll say it for them no excuses if they get beat then the other team is better but don't believe they will be intimidated by the whole playoff thing.

The big difference this year compared to last year with East is they are healthier than they have been actually in 5 weeks or so also this bunch of seniors are a mentally tough bunch , last year they went to Newport without 4 or 5 starters plus we had some what you might call certain guys going through the motions by the end of the year, they may get ran off the field thi week but don't think they won't play for 4 Qtrs. Defensively they will flat put the wood to you and their LB's are a mean bunch with all with good size and speed , d backs areas fast as anybody and d line not huge but very quick and strong. The offense is really multi faceted if you want to stop the middle they have great speed outside along with IMO one of the best receivers in the area along with Pfau give him a step and it's over, the sophomore QB is a threat both running and passing. The big difference is this bunch is coming to win and will give the ultimate effort. I've made them sound unbeatable which is obviously not true but they will not be blown out, they were beaten by Russell 27 to 7 and that was with out some major contributors who just came back against Lloyd which gives them some depth. I have no idea how good Newport is justlooking at scores from the board and word on the board, so I reckon we will see come Fri, would love to see a Russell - East final which I believe Russell will do their part hopefully we can save Russell the trip to Newport, look for the Raiders to bring plenty of fans as the support has really been great this year.
