That's great news to hear. From the outside looking in, it always seemed like they had lots of talent. Do they still play with 2 teams, or did they combine them?
Well, I guess a person could learn a lesson in playing up from the New Harlan schedule...
Cumberland
Evarts
Pennington Gap
Leslie County
I could be wrong, but out of their schedule, I'd only see the recent Letcher Central game and the Belfry ones as true tests. Knox County could be solid, but I haven't ever known of them to be.
For my 2 cents, it is the best atmosphere for high school football in this state, anyways. I'd hope they'd never make any major changes to the current facility.
To be successful in athletics at small schools, kids need to be playing multiple sports. It kills me to see so many "concentrating" on only one sport, when their chances of playing college level ball are very slim in none. So rather than being a help on multiple sports teams, they choose to be mediocre players at best in only one sport
Station lost at least 2 Division 1 kids off of their team that Dunbar throttled 45-3 last year. With all the talent that is supposed to be on the Dunbar squad this year, I doubt that Station is 70 or more points better this time around. They may be improved, but not by that much.
